Actually, 140 is my target, but it sounds so much better to say "under 140".  Anyway, I've lost about 50 lbs. over the last 2.5 years, which wasn't all that hard.  Seems like maintaining is harder.  Maybe we can share strategies/experiences with this.

ok, 140 again...  140.4 this time.  :D  i'm NOT doing anything to screw this up!!!  not this time!!!

i should be 139 by tomorrow for sure.  WooHoo!!!

Snow:  I'm at the right weight (or maybe even a little too thin), but still have a diet mentality.  Feel like a recovering alcoholic (or nicoholic) where you can't even have one drink or cigarette again.   So, I'm still avoiding junk food and being careful when social eating.  Also, burning more calories due to summer.  I'm due for a visit to my doctor.  He'll hit the ceiling.  Funny he didn't say anything when I was 195.

morton,  i've seen that happen to people on here.  they just get so obsessed, that they can't quit losing.  that's really sad, but you are kind of borderline, right?

anyway, i know exactly how you feel!  this really IS addicting!!!  it's like you thought you were born to be fat & suddenly you realize that you weren't.   :D  you can actually weigh anything you want!

that's what i always say too, how come people always tell the ones who lose weight that they're getting too skinny, but nobody ever tells the ones gaining that they think maybe they should stop gaining & that they've gained enough already?!  :D

like:  "hey, how much more do you plan on gaining?  don't you think you are fat enough yet?"  LOL

i swear!  maybe if someone had told ME that, just maybe...  i might have tried losing weight earlier.

good luck with the doc!!!

i pee'd again this morning & weighed myself again.  139.6!!!  WooHoo!!!  finally, i am even the right weight to belong here...  'til i lose more.  :D

Big family picnic yesterday, but was still down to 136.5 this morning.  Ate a lot of chips, but was pretty moderate on everything else.  1 burger (no cheese), a little pasta, 1 beer, 1 brownie, lot of fruit.  Should be back to 139 tomorrow after lots of sampling at Taste of Chicago this afternoon.  (Not many dieters there)  Except for a veggie gyro, nothing was very healthy.

Still walking/running/golfing more due to summer, so maintaining is tough.  Add the tan and I feel terrific.  Somehow reducing activity and/or increasing fatty food to maintain seems scary.  I suppose the holiday should keep me in the upper 130 anyway.

that sounds like a nice picnic.  :D  good luck with the holiday!

Thanks. It's another test of our will power.  Just keep taking the veggies and fruit.  Have a nice 4th.

thanks!  :D  i actually did great on the 4th, but i bombed out yesterday.  i hit 139 once & i was decimals away yesterday.  today i'm up a little again,  but that's ok.  i know it's "fresh weight", so it'll come off quickly...  if i behave!  lol

i WILL eventually get down to 134!  :D

oh well...  that's 2 bad days in a row for me.  it's time to behave til sunday.  that's my daughters graduation party.  i should be able to make it down to 138 by then, but only if i behave.

137 Monday morning weigh-in.  Not bad considering the constant exposure to 4th of July food.  Hopefully, I won't start losing too much again.

Snow: Hope you had a good graduation party?

Jamie: Did you have a nice vacation.  Those are really tough on the diet.

that sounds good  :D

i was 141 today, but i'm trying really hard to get back down to 139 & then hopefully, someday 134.  i will.  i know i will.  i just don't know when.  i walked 4 miles today & i'm hoping to squeeze more in.

no, the graduation party is this coming sunday.  lol  that was the 2 baby showers this past weekend.  it was nice, but i overate at both!

this new lifestyle is lowering my blood pressure.  it was 92/67 yesterday.  i don't take it all the time.  just when i go to the store & remember to.  BUT i'm on high blood pressure pills!!!

i called the doc today & he said to keep taking them.  oh well...  that seems low to me...

Well I'm desperatley trying to get under 140, currently I'm at 142 and loosing a pound a week.  So I can join the club in about 3 weeks. LOL.  My goal is to be a toned 130 but no lower than that.

you can join now if you want!  :D  i was 141 today, but i'll probably be up again tomorrow.  i really, really want to hit 139 again, but then i'll just be drooling for 138 and so on...

i'm stopping at 134 or maybe 132.  LOL  i have permission from hubby to lose an extra 2 while trying to maintain.

Snow:  I was taking 50 mg of atenolol for years and about 18 months ago all of a sudden, my blood pressure dropped too low.   I started taking my BP almost daily and cut the pills in half, then quarters, then eights.  Finally stopped altogether and BP is really good now.  You might want to buy a BP monitor (not finger) and check AM and PM.  My doctor said I could pass out if too low.  It takes a while to stabilize.  Now I'm working on my cholesterol pills, which I have already cut in half and may try to eliminate altogether..

i know!  that's scary!!!  :(

i guess i feel fine though.  the doc said to keep taking them & i'll be in for a visit in just less than a month.  he said to just go in for a reading if i feel it's too low.  no appointment or anything.  just go in.  :D

so, maybe i will...  i'll try to check it more often!

i don't understand why he still wants me taking them.

anyway, i'm back down to 140.0 today, so i should be 139 again tomorrow if i can just behave!

137.5 this morning.  Good thing I run and work out.  Switched to MGD 64.  Enjoy the summer.

i finally made it down to 138 for 2 days in a row!  :D  then i ate bad & ate late for 2 days in a row.  hehe  so i'm up to 140 again.  well, for today, at least.

i'm being good today.  that's for sure!!!

I'm glad you started this thread!  Reading through this it sounds like my life this past summer!  Family picnics, camping, vacations... all while your trying to keep your weight under control.  EEEESSSHHH!  I do enjoy myself at all of these events, but it is depressing to come home, step on the scale, and see that once again, I have 5 more pounds to lose....

I ended last year having lost just over 60lbs, and was 136 (and lovin' it!).  Then the weight started to slowly creep back on this year, and at the end of June I was 147.  So, back to losing again and now I'm at 142, so 6 more pounds to go (at least, we'll see once I get there again).  And I have a short vacation planned this next weekend to the Wisconsin Dells.... never been there, but I can't imagine there is very much diet-friendly food floating around!

Anyways, I've enjoyed reading your comments.  It's nice to know there are so many like-minded people out there sharing the same struggles I am!  Good luck to everyone!

Welcome!  Your 60 lb. loss is exactly what I lost.  Took 2.5 years. You probably won't find much diet friendly food in the Dells.  Went there when I was little, but somehow avoided taking my kids there.  Hope the waterless Tommy Bartlett water show is fun.  Just try to order salads, have cereal and fruit for breakfast (even if its free), and maybe if you do some walking, you'll break even for the weekend.  Also, try to have your plate half full when you ask the server to take your plate away.  Watch the horrified looks on your fellow guests faces.

Good Luck.  Maybe we will move on to a 129 club someday.

hey bip!  you are almost the same as me then.  :D  i'm still 140 today, but that's because i only weighed myself once today.  it usually goes down a pound from when i get up, but i wanted to start drinking right away & then it's useless to weigh again.

so, ya figure we're both around 140 & both are going down to 135ish.  lol  i want to get to 134, AND i will!  i dunno when though...  i guess there's no hurry, but it sure would be nice to be done.  :D

but then, on the other hand, you are never done.  there's always maintaining!  i think when you're maintaining it's so much easier to get that extra weight off as soon as possible.  before it sets in...

do you find that if you eat good after a bad day the weight usually drops right off, but if you keep eating bad for 2 or more days then the weight starts to stick?

what?!  the 129 club?!  WooHoo!!!  :D  that'd be cool...

136.5 this morning.  Eating all meals and even had a little ice cream and some fries this weekend.  Can't seem to find the bottom though.  I know my doctor won't be happy next week.
