Maintenece menu
I am starting to maintain after gaining from 94lbs to 119lbs in recovery from anorexia and would like to ask your opions on my average menu:
Breakfast: largebowl oatmeal/porridge with 1oz rasins, apple and handful of walnuts
Snack: 1 oz almonds and a banana
Lunch: Whole meal sandwich or wrap with tuna mayo and sweetcorn (or other protein filling). A yogurt and an apple
Snack: 50g hummus and carrot sticks
Dinner: lots of options like jacket poato with baked beans, cheese and veg/ Quorn lamb grills with brown rce and veg/ salmon fillet with brown rice and veg
Snack: Cup of hot milk or hot chocolate. Occasionaly a slice of toast with peanut butter and sliced banana.
Looks fine in principle with a good mix of different kids of food... The only thing missing are what I call 'fun' foods..... an occasional biscuit/cookie, a piece of chocolate, a little ice-cream, a glass of wine.... that kind of thing. If what you're aiming for is a normal healthy diet you'd expect to see a few of those dotted around.
What's not easy to judge is whether it's enough food... enough calories. You may be trying to get away from calorie-counting and that would be understandable. However, if you have a tendency to undereat, it could be worth doing the occasional 'spot check' with CC's food log to make sure you're getting enough to maintain a healthy weight. 2000 cals wouldn't be a bad starting point.
Well done, and good luck
