How do you overcome having sweets craving after your little bar is in the red???

Lots of water or gum (Vanilla peppermint splash) or a cream soda?

Well that is what I do.
I guess I am just feeling a little weak willed tonight. i am drinking diet dr.peppers, and really all I keep thinking about is a coke or cola slurpee. I am resisting, but it hard tonight. Maybe I'll  go make some popcorn, something that will fill my stomach and isn't too bad for me.

It's interesting, but for me personally the sweet cravings go away if I have some healthier carbs, like a handful of a good cereal. Fruit doesn't help, and neither does giving in and having sweets. Just makes the cravings worse!
Also, putting physical distance between me and whatever I'm craving is also a good idea. So is doing something active, if possible, instead of sitting at the computer or whatever.
yeah, I seem to have most of my cravings sitting here in front of the computer, which stinks because I am a web designer. I did eat some popcorn, with a 1 tbsp of butter flavoring popcorn.

It helped some, I was thinking about cereal.
i just caved, lol.  I needed it anyway.  My mom had made her gingerbread for her bookgroup and there was left over.  Sometimes i just need the sugar.  :)
I think what works for me is to get active and not with the sweet tin!!

Go for a brisk walk or a swim, whatever you can manage but that will not only rid you of the cravings but will also help to shed the pounds too.
That is easier said than done at midnight with a feeding baby.
I did end up eating 1 1/2 cups of that special K choclately cereal with 1 cup of skim milk, so yeah, I splurged, but I don't think it was over the top. It is still a will issue. It is weird, I quit smoking like it was nothing after 12 years and never looked back, yet eating is such a hard issue for me to control.
I feel your pain nebtanhai! I quite drinking a year and a half ago, and it has not been nearly the struggle that giving up, or atleast trying to cut down on sweets has been! I just really avoid them all together! I do allow once a day a weight watchers ice cream or a 100 cal pack cookie pack! Usually at the end of the day. After dinner. Something to look forward too!!!!
here is the crazy thing, now that I want to lose the weight and stop eating sweets, they magickally appear. Easter did not help, but it used to be that if my hubby boght beer, he'd bring me chocolate. He still does this. Dove Milk Chocolate. I used to eat all three servings by myself. Last night, I gave two of the three to my hubby and 5-year-old. However, I think just the taste of it took me to a craving frenzy and it was all I could do to stay away from 7-11.
the smart ones desserts are low in calories. you should try those.
I will definitely try those. On another note,  it stinks how some foods can be soooo deceiving! We went to Pizzeria Unos today in Ft. Worth and I thought, "Oh I'll do a vegetarian pizza and it will be healthier!"
No...
I ordered the "shroom" pizza? 2,060 CALORIES!!!

I was so dissapointed. I did 41 situps and walked for 4 hours today, so I think I offset the calories, but still, it was dissapointing.
by the way, that was for 1 serving!
Wow, how can one 1 serving of pizza be 2060 cal?  What was on it?
For my sweet cravings.  I allow myself 2 chocolate covered pepermint Altoids.  15 calories.
chocolate covered coffee bean, baby. 10 pence at the coffee shop on base. :D

I usually have an apple when i'm craving sweets or soem oranges. but, as you say, fruit doesn't help you, try chocolate-flavoured yogurt. I get the low fat one and it tastes gooooooood!!

if you're craving chocolate, I would suggest frozen chocolate fudgesicles, they're sooooo good and only 45 cals!
Diet V8 Splash... amazing for sweet cravings.
chocolate fudgesicles!! What a great idea! I used to do that, back before my 1st pregnancy because they were so low cal.

I did pretty good yesterday, I ate 1,652 for the day.
