A glass of water.....?

Seriously, breakfast should be be about 25%-30% of your cals for the day.  A little fat and some high-fibre complex carbohydrates make a meal more satisfying so you'll be less likely to reach for snacks mid-morning.

Poach a couple of the eggs and serve on a thick slice of wholemeal bread perhaps?.... Great start to the day.

Today for breakfast I had two poached eggs and a serving of old fashioned oats with cinnamon.

It's filling and incredibly balanced :)

for me today was a fruity breakfast :))

apples, strawberries, fage yogurt with walnuts and cinammon.

I usually have a 1/4 cup of steel cut oats and soy milk.

Today's breakfast for me:

  • 1/2 cup (measure uncooked) oatmeal
  • 2 tsp packed brown sugar
  • 1 morningstar farms sausage pattie

The fat-protein-carbs breakdown was approximately 20-20-60, and the meal total was ~300 calories.  Sometimes I'll add a cup of skim milk or half a cup of fat free plain yogurt with a little honey in it to add a bit more protein (and deliciousness).

EVERYTHING you've mentioned is high in carbs except for the eggs and all are low in calories. why low carb? i guess your only option is eggs with that constraint.

My daily breakfast is 1 slice of Sara Lee Delightful Bread, 1/4 cup of egg beaters cooked for 1 minute in the microwave in a bowl and a tablespoon of salsa all mixed together in the bowl.  I also make a smoothie from 1/2 cup mixed frozen berries and 1/2 cup danon fit and light vanilla yougurt, ice and 1 cup of sprite zero.   The whole meal is less than 200 calories and will hold you for a few hours.   I end up drinking the smoothie in the car on my way to work!  It also only takes about 3 minutes to make the whole thing!

I personally find that high protien breakfast with some fats keeps me full until about 1:00 wheras then a carb laden breakfast has me snacking by 10:30.

Today for example I had 2 eggs a turkey sausage and a slice of wholegrain toast, works out to just over 400cals.

I've been making delicious, huge breakfasts for less than 250 calories. I cut up a bunch of veggies (onions, peppers, mushrooms, spinach, broccoli, whatever i have in the fridge), and make an omelet with 1/2 cup egg beaters (60 calories) and 1/4 Sargento reduced fat cheese (80 calories). It's delicious, and it holds me over for a few hours.

i love peanut butter on toast. or cheerios... or oatmeal with nesquik powder in it!

My absolute favorite thing to make for breakfast and I usually do it ever morning is ...

make your own breakfast wrap :]

My Way:
Whole wheat wrap (50 Cals) with Eggbeaters (30 Cals), Canadian Bacon (one slice is only 20 Cals) and Fat Free Cheese (25 Cals)

Total : 125 itty bitty calories

talk about amazing. no joke.
you can always use english muffins, make a breakfast sandwhich

My favourite, routine breakfast is Astro Biobest Vitalite yogourt with a tablespoon or two of honey. Just a bit more than half a cup. At 6:40 in the morning, it keeps me feeling full until about 11 or so, where I have a fruit. Only about 300 calories or so. And even when I get to lunch at 12:30, I'm not all that hungry!

I used to eat bowls and bowls of that stupid Special K stuff in the morning- and I always felt so empty! Protein is the way to go for me.

Hmm, I should totally make myself an egg muffin and bacon sandwich thing. Sounds yummy. <3

If you want higher portein greek is a good choice and if you add some fruit and nuts it is lower in carbs but high in protein and healthy fats. If want extra carbs which I think are good for the morning a layer of granola or whole grain cereal. I know you stated you don't want to make pancakes but how about healthy french toast with whole grain bread and dippes in reg eggs and whites with fruit? Cottage cheese on toast and it makes it melt with fruit or motz or reg cheese melted on bagel or english muffin with some fruit. Some people like non tradational breakfast like turkey sandwich even.
