How Do I make it fun & keep motivated?
Hi Everyone,
Hope all are having a great week.
So I have been going to the gym and working with a trainer. I've lost about 45 pounds since May, down to 296. But I have maintained that weight and not lost any for about a month and 1/2.I want to get to 180 within a year.
I realize that I have hit the wall, the mental one where I am not as careful with what I eat and also have diminished my additional cardio.
What I used to outside the trainer(3x); was to go to the gym 2-3 times and do cardio. I would od pushups, situps, and planks. Then I would do 10 minutes steps and 20 minutes treadmill. The way I would enjoy the treadmill was that of the 20 minutes, abouy 15 of it I would read comic books and go at a 3 MPH pace, the rest I would sprint. But now I have stopped.
Anyways, I've lost my motivation, what else should I do to make it fun?
There are lots of other types of exercise that don't involve a gym. Dancing, swimming, country hikes, archery, cycling, road running.... and that's only scratching the surface. Check out your local newspapers and college prospectus for more ideas.
However, if you're not losing weight any more then the probablility is that your food intake needs revising. It's a lot easier to eat 500 cals less than burn 500 cals more, let's be honest... If you've lost 45lbs and your body is now used to a reasonable level of activity then it sounds as though your plateau could be more food-related than exercise related.
Keep your food choices fun by changing them around, trying new recipes and keeping everything fresh... Good luck
Cool, Thanks. Yes it's purely a motivation thing and I have kind of eaten a lot last few weeks. Luckily I excercise 3x per week with trainer and have not gained.
But I will look for dancing and hiking. I love both! Thanks!
