How to make wii fit more of an exercise.
So was curious with alot of people on here getting and playing with wii fit, has anyone started trying to up the intensity a little?
I bought 10 pound ankle weights, but I have found that they dont add to much, so I think I am going to try and raise the balance board a few inches.
So anyone else tried/done this? or have any other ideas?
I mean wii fit is fun, and better then nothing, but its not as good as it could be.
If you get super into the games and just start rocking out to them (especially the hula hoop ones) I don't see how you can't get a great work out! Up the reps on the strength training and yoga once you start not breaking a sweat and you're fine.
I don't like ankle weights but I don't like anything around my ankles or wrists, it feels weird and is distracting to me.
I added 2-4 lb hand weights to the free step program and I just do different arm exercises during the steps. I also use them during the free runprogram. It ups my heart rate by 5-10 points. I tried wrist weights but they drove me crazy. I plan to try ankle weights but i'm afraid to waste my money in case they drive me crazy too. :p
I have started using a small stairclimber that was gathering dust during the run. If that doesn't get your heart racing, I don't know what will. I wouldn't recommend raising the board, just from a stability point of view.
