making cold cereal into a warm breakfast

Quote  |  Reply

Hey guys, this probably has been done before but I just tried it today and it was really good. As the weather gets colder, it's nice to have a warm breakfast, but I don't love oatmeal. So today, I took frosted mini wheats, put them in a bowl with some water, and microwaved for about 20 seconds. When I took them out, I mushed them all together to create an oatmeal-like warm breakfast. It would probably be even better with milk, but water was good too. You can probably do this with other cereals, as long as they tend to get a little soggy. This probably sounds gross to a lot of people, but I enjoyed it, and it warmed me up.

I've done it with Kashi GoLean Crunch - I tried it becasue it's got mostly the same ingredients as the the hot cereal they sell, and it's cheaper this way. It's really good.

my grandmother used to have that every morning (she got the big ones tho, not the mini) with a few rasberries on top and a little bit of sugar (or you could use sweetner i guess...).  yummy!

Ohhh I need to try this!  Did you do it with milk or water?

Milk - not very much though, cause it doesn't absorb that much, unless you like it soupy.

Nice, I think I'll try this with a serving of Kashi and a serving of fiber one mixed together -- I need to up my protein.

It's also really yummy to mix cereal into warmed unsweetened applesauce.

I've had hot Grape Nuts cereal, and Kashi Golean Crunch, both with hot milk.  It makes a nice change.

How can I make walking fun?

You have to find a way to make exercise fun or else you won't do it. If you walk indoors on a treadmill, I recommend moving outdoors into the fresh air... Read more
