Making Decaf a bit tastier

For coffee junkies who are hating the taste of decaf...I discovered that making it cowboy-style makes it about 100% tastier!

Pour about 5 cups of water into a medium pot, and between 1/4 cup and 1/2 cup of decaf (depending on how strong you like it), boil for a few mintutes, then turn burner off and let the grounds sink to the bottom. Remove coffee with a ladle, and there you have it.

I have been missing coffee for awhile now, and even though the decaf still isn't perfect I think it's a big improvement :)

You know, folgers makes a half caf coffee. My doc told me that I could still have a little bit of caffine a day, roughly 200 mg, so the half caf was great! 200 mg is about 6 oz of  reg coffee, 8 oz of soda or 12-14 oz of tea.

Unfortunately, if I have even ONE cup of regular coffee during the day I get a nasty headache at night...I don't know exactly why, but prior to this pregnancy I was at about 6 cups a day. Before I was pregnant with my son it was more like a pot a day...

that probably has something to do with it. Caffeine is so damn addictive! but delicious!

i love my coffee.  i drink a lot of it-  and had to cut back to one cup a day when pregnant w/ julia.

i remember getting home from the hospital and having a latte.  it was heaven!  Do you have a press pot?  Sometimes press pots make just OK coffee taste AMAZING.

I HAD a press pot...I've moved 9 times in 11 years...

But that's why I like cowboy coffee - it's similar in taste - because nothing gets strained out. It's cloudy, like press coffee.

Have you have had it at a Vietnamese restaurant? SUPER strong, Pressed with sweetened condensed milk. It's amazing.
