Making and meeting mini goals!

Quote  |  Reply

This morning I was thinking that although it's only a difference of 1-3 pounds, I have such a hard time breaking into the 'teens. I have no idea why!

Anyways, I determined that my goal for this month is to make it to that seemingly elusive weight! For the record, I'm usually 120-123 and I'm aiming for 119. (yeah, it seems so easy, but I am having the hardest time with it!)

I know I can do it!

Anybody else have a mini goal- whether it be getting to a certain weight, fitting into a certain pair of pants, or regular exercising? Those are just a few possibilities...

what's yours?

You've inspired me Denna... I made some graphics for my profile to help me mark my progress. They are in my gallery. (Check them out.)

As soon as I hit 10lbs I will post my first one. I have eight of them. When I reach my goal the whole picture will be revealed!

Simple things like this keep me going. =) thanks for the support!

WOW!!!  That's Great!!!!

I'm not imaginative enough to think of doing something like that for my avatar.  If you don't mind, I think that I will try my hand at "coloring my elephant".

I will have to use 20 ten pound markers.  Then again, I may have to use 2 elephants  (haha)  Tongue out

Come to think of it, I may use gorillas.  Before I started my lifestyle change, we took our children to the zoo.  I was so disappointed in myself when I heard the tour guide say that the male gorilla was 275-280 pounds.  I wanted to scream.  I weighed more than the dominant male gorilla of the zoo.  Yell  (336 lbs.)  If that doesn't kick you in the butt to get you started.

So I have been on this journey since after my hernia repair July 14, 2008.

I think that's a great idea! I chose Horton from Horton Hears a Who... I like the line... "A person's a person no matter how small" it's sort of ironic in a way... turning the tables. Wouldn't it be nice for the "small" people of this world to treat us larger ones with the same kindness?

I LOVE the idea of coloring the pic in stages...so neat.......When I first started, I began a chain of paper clips, one for each pound....I loved it when I was losing, but, after I hit a 50 lb loss, I went for about 8 months, gaining and losing the same 5 lbs...I got so sick of changing that silly chain, one day when I was sooo frustrated, I threw it away!!!  BUT in May of this year I got back with it, and now have lost 105 lbs...Sure wish I still had my chain going, LOL....I still have lots to lose but it def helps to make smaller goals.  I'm only averaging maybe 1/2 lb a week now....one week i might gain 1 lb...in a couple of weeks i might lose a couple, but overall, it's averaging around 1/2 lb.

I think I may get a pic and some crayons...i really like that idea! Thanks!
