Man eats 68 hot dogs...

Wow, I wonder what this would do to your body...
Joey Chesnut is the man!!!!!
Ugh, I watched a cake eating contest on TV once, and it was the most disgusting thing ever. The way that they dunk the cake in water was extra repulsive. I'd rather watch surgery!
I can't even begin to fathom why a sane human being would want to do this as a full time job. The health consequences seem to much greater then probably the pay is.
they think it is a sport. =0

It's just so very disturbing to watch, imho. It's like on Matilda when the child-hating headmistress, Miss. Trunchbull, forces the boy to eat the entire cake.
I'd rather watch surgery too!
Some people like to run 5k or 10k others like to eat 68 hot dogs! Its all about forcing the mind to make the body do what you want it to do.

The Bruce Bogtrotter cake! *Dies*
I WANT IT!
That is brutal, it literally makes me gag. It makes me think about how I feel when I overeat and feel all bloated and ready to hurl. I should save this on my computer and when I get the urge to binge i should watch it, I am sure that would take care of the cravings.....YUCK...GAG
It would make my body puke.
I saw a show on TV that showed what your stomach looks like empty and then after eating all those hotdogs. For their demonstration they used a balloon and it was so gross. I wonder if they vomit after? It said that thier stomachs could actually rupture. In the same show it was talking about the extreme eating contests and one was of habanero peppers, it was saying they have to have paramedics there because people can actually die from eating so much of something so hot. Why would you do that to your body.
thats roughly 10,000 calories.
That guy is from my town!
Its amazing how he is so thin...I didn't expect that. I remember watching the Glutton Bowl one year. It was disgusting but I couldn't turn away. On one round they had to eat bowls of mayonnaise. That is worse to me then 68 hot dogs

Okay, I know I shouldn't have been surprised by this, but a "Glutton Bowl"?
While I would like to say "only in America could we make being a complete pig and showing it off a competitive event", apparently there is, sadly, an International Federation of Competitive Eating.
I guess it's nice for some people to be known for.....something. ![]()
I can't even eat one hotdog without feeling icky, I can't imagine 68... eww.

It's like in the movie Seven where that guy is forced to eat spaghetti until he dies. I think they vomit after AND during.
There are starving people in the world, and there are MANY other things one can do to entertain themselves; if idiots like this cannot find other ways to enjoy themselves then they are not only stupid, selfish, and disgusting, but they DESERVE what ever happens to them.
Out of ALL the thing a person can do, why do they have to unnaturally harm their body with too much food?
It is just sheer and utter lazy ness that these people cannot find something else to do!
Actually, from what I understand, Takeru Kobayashi, at the very least, works out a ton and takes care of his body as part of his preperation for eating as many hotdogs as humanly possible under a certain time limit.
I've seen this twiggy Japanese man in action. It's actually fascinating to watch him do it. He does things to expand his stomach, but all in all, he also works out a ton to make sure he doesn't gain too much weight doing what he's doing.
I'm sure he's sick as a dog after eating all those hotdogs, just like Joey probably was, at the end of the competition. The worst part is that the best competitive eaters also tend to be on the thin side, so it makes the idea of stomaching that much food in such a short-time span that much more disgusting/fascinating, lol.

Well, plenty of people in the world are harming their bodies with too much food. I think the difference is one of scale; that and the fact that their eating is being celebrated as some kind of "prowess". I agree that it makes absolutely no sense when some people don't have enough to eat. Where's the balance in this world?
