Haha I don’t mean to be a spoil sport. Heck - I can understand how it is a bit of a laugh when people go stuff themselves with hot dogs!

The hot dogs technically may NOT go to waste, if the person does not eat as much the day (or 3!) afterwards! They probably would not want to think about food for at least another day, therefore over time they would probably eat a normal amount of calories any way.. Which is NOT a waste, as they have eaten what their body requires… lol.

Oh and here is Mr Chestnut himself on the way to his new record on Youtube.

Just watching that made me cringe.  I think it's awful.

It's just so very disturbing to watch, imho. It's like on Matilda when the child-hating headmistress, Miss. Trunchbull, forces the boy to eat the entire cake.

The Bruce Bogtrotter cake! *Dies*

I WANT IT!

LoL! :)

The average hot dog bun is 110 calories. The average hot dog is about 180 calories. Add those and multiply by 68 and you get close to 20,000 calories.

20,000 calories... the mind boggles. For it not to be incredibly wasteful, I think he'd have to eat nothing for the next 7-9 days (and so would all the competitors) for it not to be excess food.

I'm not a total killjoy, I just think there are probably better competitions out there to enter/watch to get your kicks than this one.
