how much have you ever managed to lose in a month?!
hi guys! i am trying to lose 7lbs, and i was wondering how realistic it was for me to try and lose it in a month. i am currently a bmi of 20 and would just like to get comfortably back into my snug clothes asap!
i would love to hear of similar weighted people and their experiences? what did a typical days eating look like?
my metabolism is fairly normal - don't lose or gain especially quickly. am a veggie and although i eat healthily, it seems there really is ' too much of a godd thing ' lol!
thanks in advance!
I am 5'4" and currently 130 pounds. I had a goal the 1st of Oct to lose 10 pounds in 30 days and I got really close. I lost 8. So yes it is possible. You can realistically lose 2 pounds per week without starving yourself and without going over a 1000 calorie deficit. The only thing is I exercised twice a day 5x per week. Mostly so I wouldn't have to watch what I ate horribly close and could have that 1000 calorie deficit every day. So I typically burned about 2500 calories and took in 1500. I don't eat much meat either. Every now and then I will eat some chicken and some fish but that is about it. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and then I have some good recipes for dinners that aren't over 500 calories. So, if your really focused on losing it; it can be done. Good luck!!
the most i have lost is 12kg in about 2-3 month days... but it was different because it was 12kg i had gained in a little over 4 month... so it was probably my body readjusting itself or something. but that remains my personal record so far
dropped down from 107 to 95 from 22 dec 2007 to feb-march 2008
The most I've lost was 9 or 10 pounds..but my diet didnt consist of much I was mainly just eating two salads a day with some protein and no dressing. :/ (but I must have added other stuff since I had at least 1,200 calories a day.) Not to mention my BMI was much higher then yours at that time.
Then I started binging later on..so its true the slower you lose it the most likely it is to stay.
Same info that SilentDeadlyRose stated applies to me.
Most ever in one month 10 pounds.
Eating next to nothing.
Doesn't work long term.
I recall the Rice diet.
You eat rice and an orange.
I really lost on that one.
Again, not lasting.
No fun
Not healthy.
The most weight you can safely lose in a week is 1% of your body weight. At that rate, it would take you about 6 weeks to lose 7 pounds. Starting with such a low BMI, I don't know that it'd be very easy to lose weight as fast as that, though. Two or three months might be more realistic?
Apparently according to my calorie count thing I've recorded, I lost 7 lbs this april. o_O I think that's when i started caring about calories actually. I was 124 to 117.
You always lost a lot in your first month of dieting - in my first month I lost about 12lbs - I think about half of this was because not eating healthily had caused lots of water retention etc, which you probably won't have a problem with as you are already at a healthy BMI. So I lost say 6lbs of real weight, and about three the next month. I'd say you could lose 7lbs in a month if what you are currently eating is quite unhealthy, but if you're already pretty healthy I'd aim more for 4lbs the first month, and the remaining 3 the next.
thanks everyone - this is really helpful. i have 5 days holiday from work next week and will be configuring and commencing my plan! anyone with similar stats wanting to buddy up, feel free!
if anyone else has experiences and typical days eating to share, please impart all knowledge ; ) i plan to get more active too.
i work in starbucks, and after watching just how bad some peoples food choices are, i struggle to understand why i cannot lose weight a little easier - you get girls eating hot chocolate and chocolate decadence for breakfast! hell! i wouldn't touch that on my birthday!
thanks again ladies for your help and replies so far.
