mantaining when sedentary?

Quote  |  Reply
hi, i' 5'2 (158cm) and weigh around 99-100pounds (45kg). I think i'm sedentary, as I don't do much, i walk to school - 1 hour/day, spend around 2 hours in the kitchen/day, go shopping for 2 h 3 times a week. the activity log seems to over estimate my burnings.. Anyhow i wanted to ask how many claories would it be ok for me to eat and mantain. Anyone in my case? 5'2 s? 100lbs'?

wow! by your pictures, I wouldn't guess you're sedentary at all :D

to answer your question, I'm around 5'4" and 96 pounds, and for two weeks of being sedentary I maintained on 1500 cals [this site's recommendation for someone of my height, weight and activity level].

of course, it can vary wiiiidely from person to person.

hope I helped!

Thanks revolution! i can't believe that i got an answer exactly from you. Yesterday u stole a couple of hours of my life :). i've been reading your posts and stuff about you - hope you don't mine. My conclusion: great result, super ambitious person ;), but couldn't stop asking myself: how it was possible. Don't hate me for asking this: any ED?

Hi Develinne!  How many calories are you currently consuming?

Did you know that the lowest healthy weight for an adult (according to WHO's BMI standards) who is 5'2" is 101lbs.  Have you consulted with your doctor, since you are currently classified as underweight, to make sure that you are at a healthy weight for you and your body type/frame?

CC and its members cannot promote maintenance of an unhealthy weight.  My suggestion would be to gain a couple more pounds to bring you to a healthy BMI of 18.5.  Add 250-500 calories to your maintenance calories to gain weight in a slow and healthy manner.  You can use the Daily Calorie Expenditureto find out your maintenance calories.

I input your stats as 5'2"/99lbs/Light Activity and I came to 1700 calories burned during a typical day.  So if you consume 2000 - 2200 calories you can reach a healthy weight range within a month or two.

Also, have you considered consulting a nutritionist?
