Is there any way while manually adding the nutritional info of a meal to the food log to enter the information exactly as written on the box by the serving size and then say how many of those servings you had so you don't have to calculate every number?  I always eat a different amount than the serving size on the box and then have to get a calculator out to figure out how many calories, sodium, etc I ate.  It's such a pain!  Thanks for any help!!

I've been wondering that myself. Unfortunately this site doesn't seem to have that feature.

For the initial entry, I am afraid that you are stuck doing the math ...at least from the best I can tell. But I have found a couple of ways to make it easier for myself...

If I have eaten 2 servings of a particular food, I enter the info for 1 serving under add it here and then just place that food (from tagged items) in my food log. Much easier than calculating for 2 servings. Likewise, if the serving size is 6 crackers and I know I don't always eat 6, I do the math to find out how much 1 cracker is and then just add that from tagged to my food log however many times it takes to cover the crackers that I have eaten. It is still a pain to do the initial calculation but it makes future entries much easier.

 This is what i do as well.  Once I enter it once (with one serving) then I can just hit the add button multiple times for however many servings I had.

I find this part very frustrating.  Your suggestion works fine if you are eating something like crackers but breakfast cereal where a portion is 55g and you ate 69g it doesn't work well.

I expected once I entered the information on 1 serving that I would be able to put in the number of grams of it I ate today and it would work out the math for me.

I may have worked this out, when you manually add a food you may have to do the maths first and enter all values as 100g serving size (you cant leave it blank, but you can edit this when you select in future from your tagged items)and enter values for calories/sodium/fibre/protein etc as per 100gm and then add the item to the current day. Next tag the item and delete the first entry you made. When you then select it next time from your tagged list, enter the exact amount you eat for example - 69g and before you add the food to the days log click the box again stating values stored are per 100gm then add it.

I found this works out 69g worth of calories etc for the amount you eat. Make sure you delete the original entry for 100g serving (only keep it in the tagged version)

I hope you understand this and can get it to work. I live in the UK and all our store boxes record 100gm values as well as serving size, so just make sure you enter 100g values and not serving size.

Unfortunately, for now, it can't be done.  I get around it by entering different serving sizes and tagging them in a group.  Or, I just do the math and enter the new values on the chart that comes up when you log a self defined item.

Never forget to tag the items you enter!
