Do you have to manually update calorie target when you lose weight?
Hello
I am not sure if this or the CC forum is the best place to post this. I have lost about 6 kg so far (yay!), and that means by daily burn has gone down too (to 1530). But CC, despite having my weight stats, doesn't seem to update this automatically.
Does everyone manually update their calorie target regularly?
Or am I missing something? Should I leave the calorie target where it was back when I was 82kg, which is at about 1600 cals a day?
If you'd started at 100kgs+ and were now 76kgs you'd find your energy needs changed. But going from 82kgs to 76kgs is not a particularly big jump and your total energy needs really won't have changed much, if at all.... which is why CC will show it as the same. If you're losing weight on 1600 cals a day then there's no need to reduce it.
ah... got it. Thanks!
CC makes suggestions about your calorie target when you enter your original weight, goal weight, and activity level. But once you enter your Calorie Target, that doesn't get updated unless you change it.
As long as your calorie intake is less than your total burn (including exercise) you will continue to lose weight.
I find that although my RMR has dropped (I am halfway to goal -- started morbidly obese), my activity level has increased, and my total burn stays about the same as it was. This means that I can leave my calorie target alone and continue to lose weight at about the same rate.
