How to market to weight lifters.....
How about NOT Showing ladies with skinny noodle arms lifting 1 pound dumbells???
I was browsin the web lookin at exercise clothes, dreaming of the day my thunder thighs finally pack their bags and go, and I can wear some sweet little booty shorts to the gym (just kidding about the booty part) when I saw that Champion had a page SPECIFICALLY for "weight training".
And I thought... WHAT IS THIS? Was this website made by sexist pigs? Do they think we are frail weak little women who can only handle itty bitty dumbells?
So, half way through my angry letter I was preparing to send them, I decided to check out the picture on the men's page....
Then I just laughed a lot. These people aren't sexist, they just don't know ANYTHING about weight lifting. Puh-lease.
And yes, I'm aware they're just models and Champion just wants to sell clothes, but I would think you would want to use pictures that would appeal to the people you want to sell to... and I doubt either of those pictures would appeal to a weight lifter.
I still sent my not-so-angry letter.
ah..but you're wrong...even the most elite male/female bodybuilder will pay close attention to that ad if the woman/man is hot. Trust me, the last thing he/she is looking at is the weight of the dumbell...They are selling clothing therefore, they don't need to know a lot about weight lifting..only what wears well during and what looks HOT.
They don't look very hot.
There must be some "slob" line of workout wear that targets me as their main demographic. Looking awesome at the gym is really lost on me
