Mars company and animals.

Quote  |  Reply

I recently read that the Mars company (the ones who make twix, snickers, musketeers) condone animal testing. They've conducted tests on animals and I think what they've done is horrible. I wanted to put that out there for all the vegetarians, and wanted to make people aware.

ED: The website is.. www.marscandykills.com

I don't eat that crap anyway, but thank you for posting this.

damn i feel guilty now =/

Not only do they condone it, they do entirely unnecessary tests that are not required or suggested by the FDA. It's so sad- I signed the petition asking them to stop.
could you link to the petition?
I swear it wasn't until I decided to boycott Mars that their products are showing up all over the place! My mom bought me a 3 Musketeers the other day, my friend offered a pack of M & M's... it's hard to say no, hah :P

Sure, I'll post the link to the website, I think there's an email there that you can send to the Mars company asking them to stop what they're doing. I'm going to edit the original post.

And yeah, I could not believe this when I first heard it! I loved my Twix, and my Snickers..but I'm going to try my best to stop eating that because of what they're doing to animals. :[

There are many companies that test on animals...Proctor and Gamble is one...I use to feed my cats Iams but after P&G brought them, I no longer buy that brand becasue of the testing.  I always check for cruelty free products. Also goes for Pharmaceuticals...they often test on animals.
Mars & Cadbury both do very bad things.  We don't buy any of their products.

This is true, but it's much harder to avoid medicines that were animal-tested. If the drugs they give my father for his lymphoma was tested on animals, then so be it, he should still take them of course. I don't agree with the testing, but honestly I would rather that my dad not die. On the hand of things like candy and cosmetics, however? It's so COMPLETELY unnecessary that it makes me absolutely ill.

Here's a list of animal-testing/non-animal testing companies...
