Masking chemical taste of whey?
I'm doing NROLFW, and drinking the required protein shake after my workouts with whey protein powder. I'm using Body Fortress Vanilla, I think. It tastes good, except for a gross chemical aftertaste. Since I bought a whole tub, which isn't cheap, I'd rather not have to go buy a different kind. I'm currently adding almond milk, yogurt, blueberries, and banana. Any tips?
I drink the BioChem whey shakes sometimes, and they don't have an aftertaste to me. Maybe you could try those next time. In terms of improving the flavor of what you have, you might try adding a drop or two of a flavor extract like vanilla or almond extract. That wouldn't change the nutritionals, but might make it a little more palatable.
OK, maybe I'm really sensitive to the aftertaste...but it is REALLY bothering me. I feel like I can still taste it a day after drinking it. I think I'm going to go to GNC tomorrow and buy a new kind.

Unfortunately, this was from walmart.
some ppl have said that the chocolates are always better....chocolate body fortress is my fave (and is the cheapest vs gnc or someplace else).
I got a tip for ya though: get sugar free AND fat free dry pudding mix (jello)...get it in either vanilla or chocolate, depending on what flavor protein you have. Shake just a bit in w the protein mix and voila, it tastes A LOT better!! Also, peanut butter masks the taste pretty well too (That is if you have a blender or smoothie thing).
On the go andin the know.
