I put this under fitness because we work our muscles so hard they deserve to be rewarded with a nice massage. I went today and it felt great! For all of you that have been doing the arm challenge- she said I had knots all under my shoulder blades, up my neck and all down my back! I feel so much better! This was a reward for me getting under 150! I highly reccomend you get a massage and make sure you tell them that you have been exercising and tell them your problem areas- dont be shy about anything, the more information they have the better your massage will be! Just thought I would share!

that's so cool slappy. I'm definitely considering doing this as a treat for when I get under 130. I'm at 131 today so pretty soon, pretty soon!!! :)
thats awesome! I ended up eating pretty good today. I had my cooked spinach for lunch and a big spinach salad with just the spinach, redwine vinegar and some shredded parm cheese. @ big bottles of water since the massage! If there is someone that uses hot stones-GET That! It helps work the muscles out and feels great! Funny thing is the lady that does mine is a Nun, it was a very peaceful hour!
I have Rheumetoid Arthritis and FiberMyalgia..for those of you with similar problems a massage helps more than the drugs for me. It also makes it possible to keep up with exercising.
Whoop! Whoop! Congrats you guys, that's awesome :D
i love my therapeutic massage, too. mine works out tight spots that i didn't even know i had!! it leaves me a little sore for a day, but then my flexibility is far better than before. i found her through my curves, where she was giving a 15 min massage, but then started going to her for the one hour treatment. it's really wonderful!
massages are the best things in the world. i am addicted to them. you should just treat yourself to them because you are alive! plus if you go to massage schools they can be a lot cheaper rather than the spas. they have massage students there who need to get hours and it usually costs half of what the professional would cost but with the same great touch...you could even ask for a student who is close to graduating to ensure satisfaction. in Hawaii a massage cost only $25 from a student. great deal! i want one now!

I get a massage every weekend.

I HAVE to. My body is so beat up and I have such bad back problems.

Hes like a sports medicine masseuse and works on athletes and dancers and such.

Thank goodness Ive been going to the same place since I was small (like 7),that Ive brought him in a lot of business so I get worked on for free..and I usually take a friend for free.

Has definitely saved me a lot of money, but even if I had to, I would pay.

I missed a weekend when I went to South Padre for my birthday last month, and man I was miserable! My body has gotten so spoiled and use to them, that if I dont go, Im in horrible pain.

Pathetic, I know.

So yes, I highly advise them. =]

I know it's not a massage, but have any of you tried foam-rolling

I have a foam-roller, and I don't use it often enough, but it can be a cheap, easy alternative to a massage, and it really does help with flexibility and soreness.

I don't know why people wnat to wait to get a massage until they reach a certain weight as a "treat." You can get a spa massage where they are just making you feel good, but a therapeutic massage is soooo important if you are tearing your body apart with exercise. It's an important part of staying healthy and feeling good. Don't wait for it to be a reward for weight loss!

karozel, I'm a triathlete and have been avoiding getting the foam roller but I will be getting one soon. It hurts like hell on the IT bands but if you do it daily it will keep your muscles a little looser. I just don't wnat to have to deal with the initial pain!
