Matt Logelin
I don't know how many have heard of Matt but I've been reading his blog for some time now. Since I've been reading, he's been in People Magazine, on the Rachel Ray Show and all over the news. His blog is so powerful that it literally brings tears to my eyes every time I read it. His wife died 27 hours after their daughter was born and his blog is the story of his life; how he still struggles with the anger and grief every day but at the same time has to raise his infant daughter. Excellent writing.
I just wanted to share a link for those who haven't heard of him.
Thanks for sharing! I will check it out.
I've spent the most of the morning crying while reading (being pregnant probably doesn't help). He really seems like an amazing person.
I'm going to go onto his blog after I put Julia down for bed. thanks for the link! I'll probably be my emotional weepy self after reading it....LOL
Seriously. I get so weepy reading it and yet I can't stop. He is so inspirational and open about his feelings (sometimes in vulgar terms). It's so rare to hear a man express emotions like he does.
Sorry to all the emotionally sensitive new moms and pregnant women!
Edited to add: Here is a synopsis of Matt's segment on the Rachael Ray Show. I know his blog doesn't give much insight into the first 27 hours of his daughter's life but this blurb does.
I also read the People article. He was given money that was raised by a memorial 5k and instead of keeping it, he split it up between two families who had infants that lost one parent...the Liz Logelin foundation was born. Wow.
Bier, thanks so much for sharing this with us! I just finished reading a good two months worth of his entries. They are so touching and well written...you were right!
Anyone else, seriously...check it out.
I have been reading for... well since the first post after Liz died. Stunningly good reading, and the cutest baby. I think Liz would be so proud of her husband.
Thanks Bier for posting this link. I'm hooked! What a special person.....
Bumping this because today is the day.
It's the one-year anniversary of the death of Matt's wife.
Yesterday was Madeline's first birthday.
what a beautful baby and daddy. i just read a few of the entries and I'm sitting at work weeping! maddy is gorgeous! life is so precious. she didn't even get to meet her momma. drea is right, liz would be proud of both of them. death is such a part of life; but so unfair.
I tried to watch their video before work the other day and had to turn it off 20 seconds into it because I was in tears and didn't have time to reapply makeup! 20 SECONDS! I'm such a sap...
