It appears to be common knowledge that people should eat more on the days that they exercise a lot to make up for the larger calorie deficit. I burn about 1000 calories on an exercise day but I really don't have much of an appetite. In order to do the vigorous activity (usually HIIT, weights and jogging) I need to be on a fairly empty stomach. Afterwards I'll eat normally, but the early-day restricted eating means I end up eating a few hundred calories less. Days that I don't have exercise, I seem to have a much bigger appetite and it's much easier to eat more calories.

The numbers will average out over the weeks to an acceptable and a small deficit. My weight loss of 2lbs/week, however seems to show that CC is underestimating the deficit by a large amount. But in regards to intake, I seem to be doing the exact opposite of what I should be doing. Does everything even out or is my "over"eating on sedentary days and "under" eating on active days doing something I wouldn't like as someone who is trying to lose weight and fat?

Things will even out, if you are eating more the next day - the body doesn't work on 24 hr time.

When I work out, I'm often not as hungry after, but the next day... yeah, I can eat. Just don't dip too low, or go too high.

i, too, tend to be OK on lifting days but ravenous the day after.  i try to up my cals and protein a little on lifting day but i don't worry too much about it anymore.  since i log my cals in weekly blocks, i know that what i crave the next day will even the numbers out.
