I'd like to start a group for some people who really want to get in shape for or during the summer. I thought i'd start a group to see what the turnout would be if i started a group, since we have far too many empty groups on here! We can find buddies or just share advice on how to stay healthy, exercise and even good recipes for the summer season!

My stats:

Age: 18

Height: 5'10

Weight: 161lbs

Something about yourself: I am a recovering bulimic (even though it's been years) and am trying to cope with my binging habits.

Name: satyswoman

Age: 38

Height: 5'10"

Weight: 155

Something about me: I'm really close to my goal weight, 150. I think when May is done I am going to start working more on toning and less on weight loss. But I still want to keep an eye on the scale, maybe this will help.

Name: i_will_get_there_135

Age: 15

Height: 5'9"

Weight: haven't checked in a really long time, but about 170

Something about me: In addition to losing and becomeing fit and reaching my goal, i also want to learn how to love myself more. My self confidence is really broken and i hope that with time as the fat goes so will my inhibitions.

Age: 29 (in a few weeks)

Height: 5'9"

Weight: 155lbs

Something about me:  I have fallen off the wagon and can't seem to get back on it!  Since January I have put on 10-12lbs and the scale just seems to keep going up and up.  I love to run and workout and that doesn't seem to be doing me any good these day's either!  I just want to see the numbers go down even if it isn't back down to where I was in December.  I just don't want them to go up any more.  I feel like I just can't seem to get a grasp on my calorie intake.  I seem to average out at about 2,300 over 7 days.  Somedays I eat more somedays less but the average is around there.  I would think that would be a good number since I do so much physical activity...but the scale thinks differently.  Okay, I will stop going on and on about this.  Now it's time to just DO IT! :-)

I understand completely. I used to be really self confident, and now my self-esteem is down to like zero. I feel like if i get rid of the weight that is making me self-conscious than i will get my old confidence back.

i'm game. :]
i'm a recovering anorexia nervosa/bulimic. altho, like you, its been maybe 3 or 4 yrs. but you never really get out it, do you?

anywhoo! here are my stats:

Age: 2O
Height: 5'7
Weight: 132-133lbs [too afraid to step on my scale]
Something about me: Recovering from an ED that i was battling since i was 12. want to weigh [again] 12O by mid-august. why? my 1yr marriage anniversary is aug 26. want to look good. suck at maintaining because i lack motivation. i HATE living in va beach because i've got no one here to motivate me... my husband is my life support. according to millions of drs, theres a very high chance i'll never see motherhood. Cry

feel free to msg me. i'm off to the dentist! :/

yeah, for me it's been even longer, but the habits never really go away.

congratulations on your anniversary though, as far away as it may be. I really want to get in shape for my marriage too, in october:)

oh, i'd love to be part of the group! i'm much more motivated when i have group support. :)

age:24

current weight: 143

target weight: 127

height: 5'7

about myself: i'm trying to get to the weight i had before college and midnight snacks, party drinking and all those harmful habits. since february, i started riding my bicycle - 2 hours per day, 4 days per week. i also walk a lot....and keep one day to be a total vegetable, just sitting on the couch and watching movies or reading. and i also eat a lot of vegetables - i'm a vegan with a weakness for dark chocolate, fruit popsicles and potato chips.

i want to lose weight and finally look good this summer. i already started losing in february, i'm down to the last 16 pounds. i have three meals and three snacks per day.

come on, girls! let's do this!

Welcome! Is it ad that i always wanted to be a vegan, but i have a weakness for 2 things that are no-no's. lamb, eggs, and feta cheese=/ however, like you, dark chocolate is a weakness:) i try to keep to 3 meals, so mega healthy, one regular, and three "good" snacks.

I think we should post our progress stats each saturday, but post during the week just to talk to each other and help out others. Sound good? Also, i plan to friend anyone that joins so that i can keep up with everyone's progress.

Age: 14

Height: 5' 6"

Weight: 233 lbs

Target weight by end of summer: 200

Something about yourself: I'm trying to recover from my eating disorder on my own, without the help of my family but with the help of a doctor who, hopefully, won't tell my parents.

I understand completely.

I actually did it without a doctor or my parents knowing, though i suspect my doctor did know what was going on. let me know if you ever need to talk.

Age: 16

Height: 5'2.5"

Weight: 153lbs

Something about yourself: I really would like to be normal weight before I go back to school in September. New beginnings and all that. I've had disordered eating habits for quite a bit of my life (chewing/spitting on and off from 8-10, a tendency to starve from 12-14, and obsessive exercising for a year) but I'm slowly learning how eat properly and healthily :]

And Saturday progress sounds good!

Hopefully we can all start eating more healthily and learn to live with it.

I'm surprised at how many people have had some sort of eating disorder-type habits before. it makes me feel less odd for admitting my own problems.

good to find a lot of pple who are close-ish to my weight/height!..

I'm 5'7 and 151-152lbs...want to get to 140 in the next two months!!..

i am maintaining an intake of about 1200 cals a day.

My stats:

Age: 28 (will be 29 by Aug!)

Height: 5'8"

Weight: 155 lbs

Something about yourself: My goal is to lose 15 lbs. over the summer...and to have lots of fun while doing it!  I've already lost a decent amount of weight, this is the final step and I could really use (and provide to others) some support.  My weakness is overeating at dinner and/or into the evening...must conquer this!!

hey everybody! this is great....

My stats:

Age: 22

Height: 5'2"

Weight: 146 lbs

Something about yourself:  I've been on calorie counter for over 2 yrs.... my high weight has been 165 and i'm currently down to 146. I reached my goal weight 1 1/2 yr ago of 129 but i started eating unhealthy again... so here I am!

Hey! This is actually my first day back on this website since about March or so.    :( I'm very dissapointed in myself, I was doing really well and I got so busy with the last few months of college and now its summer break and I'm losing this weight no matter what!!!!

Age: 18 (19 in July!!)

Height: 5'6"

Weight: about 188 (gained since i quit :(  )

About myself: like I said, I've started this before and got off the wagon. But I felt soo much better and healthier when I was eating right and excercising. I just hope I can find time to excercise this summer every day because I work a fulltime job and am never home! I'm excited for this group! I hope I can get back into the hang of things.

Age: 22

Height: 5'10.5"

Weight: currently 190, but I've lost about 7 lbs since getting off meds, I was originally close to 200.

About me: I gained around 40 lbs in 2 months due to birth control, anti-anxiety/depression medications, and general laziness (not that I ever really worked out before, I did/do bike everywhere though). I'm kind of freaking out about it, because it's so far from my normal body weight (150 lbs), and none of my clothes fit. My lowest weight at my current height was 127 lbs in 9th grade, but that was attained via anorexia and purging. After that, I maintained at 150-155 more less without effort until a few months ago. I don't really want to be skinny, or incredibly muscular, or have buns of steel and a 6-pack - I just want to get down to my regular body weight. I am totally fine with being an average size 6.

So, I am looking at pictures of the "Biggest Losers" and I don't understand.  Where are the skin flaps left over from being fat?  This is a serious worry for me.  Enough so that it makes me rethink becoming thinner/healthier.  What if I actually do lose the 80 or more lbs that I want to lose and my body looks worse than ever because of all of the loose, stretched skin?  That would seriously suck.

By the way...Dear Asphyxiac,  I have been there.  I gained TONS of weight from meds.  Like 40lbs worth.  The rest of the weight came naturally. haha.  I can sympathize with your situation.  Unfortunately, I will never be able to come off of my meds so weight loss is that much more of a battle.  Keep up the good work.  Every lb counts.

Age: 40

Height: 5'8"

Current Weight: 162
Goal Weight: 153-140 (I'm winging it based on how I feel strength- and health-wise)

I'm spending my summer vacation (yes, I'm a uni student at my age) training for a triathlon in late September as well as losing weight and toning up for some skimpy costumes at Dragon Con over Labor Day weekend.

My plan is to see my personal trainer four days a week, swim at least two days a week, run at least three days a week, and actually take one day a week off to let my body relax and just to chill out and enjoy life.

I eat around 1500 calories a day and I may up that since I'm intensifying my workouts for the summer.

As for loose skin with weight loss, I'm definitely experiencing it. I've lost 65 pounds since last July and my stomach and breasts are not what I'd like them to be. I mostly just accept that this is a fact of life and the results of not doing in my 20s or 30s what I'm doing now at the beginning of my 40s. On the plus side, I still look a million times better than I did at 227, and I consider the loose skin well worth the price of admission for a healthier life and a ton more energy and self-respect.
