May-August: Summer Weight Loss
I'd like to start a group for some people who really want to get in shape for or during the summer. I thought i'd start a group to see what the turnout would be if i started a group, since we have far too many empty groups on here! We can find buddies or just share advice on how to stay healthy, exercise and even good recipes for the summer season!
My stats:
Age: 18
Height: 5'10
Weight: 161lbs
Something about yourself: I am a recovering bulimic (even though it's been years) and am trying to cope with my binging habits.
Way to go grimp!! If only I could say I was down that many lbs. Oh, well. Can't get discouraged.
My weekend weigh in
237lbs
start weight 256 March 17
last weigh in 238 May 12
goal 180
height 5'6"
Glad to be down even 1lb considering how many times I fell off the wagon. I am battered and bruised and hoping to crazy glue myself to the wagon so I don't fall off anymore.
Signed...On the wagon again.

Agh, this week has been awful for me. I'm way too stressed to even think about losing. I've stayed pretty much the same the whole time. I remember when being stressed meant that I would eat less!

I gladly did well. And yea I hear ya about hitting the gym regularyly, back from college for the summer and getting myself to workout with the free time that Im not used to.

My weight loss is pretty steady at about 3 lbs a week right now. Which is good, because I lost a bunch of weight at first (like 6 lbs in 4 days), but I think it was all water. The only problem with this diet is that I'm apparently turning into a food nazi - or that's what friends are calling me. I can't help but see food and automatically count the calories in them, which just makes me not want to eat them. I also have no appetite at this point and am seriously struggling to hit 1200 calories a day. I eat and eat, to the point of being stuffed, but I think that because all I am eating is raw vegetables and lean protein, it doesn't really add up to much - like 700 calories a day. I then have to force myself to eat a bunch of rice, or a big bowl of cereal to hit 1200. And then I feel guilty about it. It's kind of silly, but it's what I hate about dieting. Calories become your life. It's all you think about, talk about, and calculate constantly. I have obsessive compulsive tendencies as it is - I totally don't need another thing to worry about. Losing weight right now is effortless in a sense because I don't want to eat, but it still takes up a large chunk of my consciousness nonetheless. And I don't like it.
I COMPLETELY understand ya and do the exact same thing. Its been about a year and a half and I have to calculate in my head my calories for the day as I go on. Healthy? possibly. OCDish? possibly also, I guess the only thing that maybe is good is that I think of it once and then I try not to think of it again until next food time.

this week 237...was 234.5 then I went to a bbq. Big mistake. I am hoping it is water weight (lots of salt with dinner) as I was good all of last week (diet and exercise) and I would like to be rewarded for all of my hard work.

Things have been crazy for me, i had emergency surgery and the focus has since shifted. I do want to try to continue loosing, but with diet and a little walking. I may get back to real weigh ins this weekend. Hope everyone is staying focused!
I've lost 2 lbs in the past 4 days (since June 4th). Strategy: I decided to try something new - eat a little more (like 200 calories more) per day, and start actually working out (nothing serious, 30 minute work out every morning, followed by walking/biking as a mode of transportation - I walk/bike about 6-7 miles a day now on average, though I biked/walked 11 miles yesterday). It seems to be going really well. Also, I can be less of a food nazi, eat out a little more, and build muscle while I am at it. I feel much better about myself and my mood/energy has also improved. Hope you are all doing just as well.
P.S. I'm sorry to hear about your surgery, bkmanda :(. You should just take it easy for a couple of weeks. I hope you feel better.
How often should you eat during the day?
It is neither necessary to eat every two hours nor to stop eating at 6:00 PM. As long as your calorie intake is less than your output... Read more
