Reason: Moved from Weight Loss to Games and Challenges forum

current weight: 120

goal weight: 110

My plan: 45 minutes of exercise (elliptical, treadmill, stairclimber) 5 days a week (M-F)

Drink lots of water!

Remember portion control!

I know it's a little late in the game, but can I join you guys? I can't lose 10 pounds by May 1st obviously, but I think 7 would be reasonable! Just weighed myself this morning (after a good amount of coffee AND breakfast too!) and it was 140. Yay! Oh, and I'm 5'4, 21 years old. I try to run 2-3.5 miles, 3 or 4 times a week, and a longer run (4-5 miles, working on making it longer) on Saturdays.

calorie limit: 1500 (a little more on Saturdays)

SW: 146

CW: 140

GW: 125

I've been using the site for a little while but haven't really posted yet, so I guess I'm still a newbie. Trying to lose it slow!

awww

I've just binged today

I might put a couple pounds on me

I might limit my calorie tomorrow

so that it can compensate my binge today

will it gonna work?

anyway,how's everyone doing?

=]

Well, last Saturday I was down to 127.5, but next day was back up to 129.5 (I had a cheat day on Saturday).  I had another unplanned cheat day yesterday, but I ran 3.5 miles, walked 1 mile, and overall didn't do as bad as I thought for Sunday.  Today I was 129.1.

Back on track for the week!

topazie,

I don't think that undereating today will really compensate for binging yesterday. It might only make you really hungry and cause to overeat later on in the day or tomorrow.

Just forgive yourself and eat a balanced diet today. One day at the time...

wow alot of us are getting a little off track with the cheating....and i am also guilty as charged but i defend myself b/c it was my b day :p i had fish and chips, sushi and brownies and ice cream...not horrible but i cant get rid of the guilt - which is soo unhealthy.

lets all try to have a tight eating and exercise week and see how the scale judges us near the end of the week...also i am too scared to step on the scale!

who else gets super discouraged if they see an increase in the scale (even if you know you didnt gain fat)?

I had one day where I had oatmeal in the morning and then nothing else until dinner, which was a huge homemade salad with grilled chicken, tarragon pests and grilled bread. I hadn't allowed a cheat in forever, and I'm not even sure if that was considered a cheat because I had over 1200 calories left. Then, the other days I made up for it by restricting.

Guess what? I didn't lose at all! I even saw the scales go down by 2 POUNDS one morning. But no, I'm still at 189 this morning. I'm going to wait a bit and see if it's water weight because it's kind of TTOTM because I missed a pill, grr.

EDIT: I guess I actually did lose(barely) because I looked back at my log and saw that 189 was a mid-week log and one week ago I was 189.4, so 188.6 is almost a pound lost. Ooops. So now I feel a bit better. I'm still frustrated that I intentionally didn't hit my calorie limit each day (1583) and it didn't result in more weight loss.

I want to lose around 25lbs by end of june so by the end of may i want to be down at least 10-14lbs! (I have prom May 30 ! )

Height: 5'5"

Highest Weight: 180(may 06)

Lowest Weight: 125(feb 07)

Current Weight: 160

GOAL WEIGHT: 135-140

Calorie Limit: 1500 or less.

Exercise: i do something everyday, it also takes away boredom so i don't eat.

Advice: don't weigh yourself. when i lost all my weight in the beginning i didnt have a scale so i never weighed in and i feel like because i didnt weigh myself then i didnt say "hey i lost 5lbs, lets treat myself to an ice cream cone". i also didn't eat meat but i have to eat chicken and turkey now, i need alot of protein.

ALSO, if you don't feel like going to the gym one day, do some crunches at home or leg lifts or squats, anything helps!

mrsvanek26 -"prom" leads me to believe that you're still in high school, which means that 1500 calories is probably not enough, let alone less than 1500 calories. furthermore, i think 25 pounds by june seems like a lofty goal - half of that would probably be more realistic. i'm not trying to upset you, but i think expecting 25 pounds in less than 3 months is setting yourself up for an upset.

anyone else here - correct me if i'm wrong.

I'll hop in. I need 10 lbs by May. I start a new job next week, so I don't know what my calorie burned will be with it, but here's my stats.

CW: 155

GW by May: 145

Calorie Limit: 1500 Max

Exercise: Don't laugh, but I do 30-60 minutes of Wii Fit every day, and will be walking 1 mile to work everyday

Water: About 3 quarts of Green Tea a day.

Aw sounds like so many of you are doing SO well!

Me... not so much! I'm still eating well, working out (missed 2 work outs due to appoinments/busy days though).

Ironically I went to the doctors for a cough and she noticed a few funny things in my symptoms and asked me to get some blood work done too... they are checking my Iron, Vitamin D and any Thyroid issues among things ect... then at the gym that day a woman pointed out she's seen me working out a lot but I've gained a little in the middle (we were having an open weight loss conversation and I mentioned having had no problem in the past but this time I am gaining weight doing what has worked before) and she too mentioned a Thyroid issue so who knows. It would answer my questions. Doesn't make sense to have a healthy diet and excercise program at 24years old and be gaining weight rapidly.

Let's just hope it's not a parasite, I mean baby! Sorry, watching House reruns! But seriously, that's something that would make your belly get chunky while losing weight...

i just got super discouraged, and i know its really silly.  i was 118 last week, this week 120.  i dont look bigger, and ive been doing heavy lifting and i know its a combo of water in my muscles and actual muscle gain, but the numbers r pissing me off.... the only way to redeem my mood is to whip out my measuring tape!

anyone else have irrational mood swings about their weight?

Don't let the scale judge ur performance

you dont feel that u look bigger... and that's great!!

I dont want to weight in so often

so i try to feel my weight instead...

just wanna be happy in my own skin

anyway,

has anyone know about cramp?

it's not a real cramp on my legs

but i feel some tension on my lower legs, both of them

is it because i dont have enough vitamins?

kishmish - I think we all get a little irrational about our weight sometimes! But you are 120lbs, and seriously, I'd kill to be there right now... bodysnatcher!

Seriously though, I think you know that rationally it's because of the weights and everything, so try not to feel too down about a couple of pounds. I need to follow my own advice, because I've been getting so disheartened with the scales!

The only thing that makes me feel a little better is remembering that last time I weighed this much I was a UK size 14-16, and now I am a 12... Must be muscle!

Muscle is cool... keep on keeping on kishmish!

On a personal note, I weighed 156lbs this morning, so I think I've dropped a pound?? Keeps going up and down. Need to get over this plataeu!

topazie - is this after working out? or just generally? Also, is it in your calves or shins? Or both?!

xx

it's in my calves

I have it for a whole 2 days now

it's getting a bit better today

but i worry about my vitamin intake

may b I dont get enough vitamin

TT

topazie - i really don't think lower leg pain has anything to do with vitamins. it's probably just from working out.  i don't know of any deficiency that causes sudden leg pain.

eat a balanced diet and take a multi-vitamin.

I know I'm a little late, but I'd like to join in too!!  Smile

I lost 40 lbs last year, reaching my goal in June.  I was able to maintain (within 5 lbs) until Christmas.  Now, I've gained 17 lbs over my goal wt and I need to get it off!! I read where someone was going to throw out all their old clothes when they hit goal (sorry, I can't remember who posted)- I did that, and now my pants are literally screaming!!!

My stats:

37 years old with 2 kids (8 & 2)
CW- 137
GW-120
HW- 160 (not pregnant)
LW- 116 (June 08, goal at that time was 120)

I lost previously by going to one of those weight loss clubs where they provide you with a meal plan, you eat supplements, and weigh in 3x a week.  Being held accountable really helps me, but they have gone out of business due to the owners health problems.  I hope some of you guys will help me with the accountability issue Cool

I HATE to workout, and rarely do it.  I know this about myself, and I accept it.  I do try to make extra efforts during the day - like taking the stairs at work or parking as far as possible from the door to make myself walk.  So, I tend to respond best to low calorie, lower carb diets.  I actually just began my new diet today, so I started my day with low-cal van yougurt and a fiber drink.  Had a mocha supplement with my coffee (15 gm protein and 100 cal).  I think I will have a 6 inch subway for lunch, and maybe some grilled pork chops for dinner.  I absolutely hated dieting the first time ( I am a self professed junkfood-aholic, taco bell, and chocolate, and french fries, oh my) and really am mad at myself for allowing the weight to come back.

Congratulations to all of you working soooo hard!!!

stacimae - i hate working out too! i also try to take the stairs unless i'm carrying a ton of books or something. all day i'm with children, at school, doing homework and at the end of the day, i just want to relax before i do it all over again.
