So I've been slowly and steadily losing weight, starting out at 180lbs in early October. I finally hit 170 about a week ago and I got stuck. Last night I spent the evening with friends and unfortunately we all decided McDonald's would be so good at 10:00 at night. So I get the 10 piece chicken nuggets with a medium fry which bumped my total calorie intake for the day to 2500. I hopped on the scale this morning and it said 167.0! What?! How awesome is that? I mean I know the McDonalds couldn't have done that much, but maybe it was just what my body needed to get shocked out of the 170's.

Either way, I don't care, I'm happy. 160 here I come! Then on down to 150!

Same thing happened to me...only my Mcdonald's was Marie Callendar's halloween night! I was 196 that saturday and monday I was 191 I don't know what happened I thought it was a miracle!!!

Side note: today im 185!! I'm just showing off now

Weren't you the one crawling through a few days of flu? So I'm just glad you're out and about even if it is to eat McDonald's ;-)

It happens to so many on this site -- a cheat day just moves everything along and helps keep the metabolism from going into super-efficient calorie-restriction mode (where it hangs on the all the weight as best as it can).

Congratulations on surviving the flu and breaking the 170 barrier.

Yeah that was me...I went through six days of fun-filled flu symptoms. I had to get back to work because once I hit the sixth day they were wondering what exactly was going on with me.  My fever was gone, so I went on back.

Sounds like water weight to me. Don't underestimate the power of sodium to make you hold onto water. Keep your sodium to 1500 or less for a day or two and weigh-in again.
