How bad is this? I crave these and I know compared to most things sold at McDonalds, this is one I don't feel too guilty about. When I check the calories it is 150 and 3 grams of fat. The only thing is that the serving size doesn't appear to be weighed. No two cones never look alike. I don't think they weigh these. Does anyone know how bad these really are for you?

The real question is do you eat or do you eat more?
One ok, more iffy.

They probably have a machine that dispenses a pre measured portion.
I only eat 1. But I have been to the same Mc Donalds on average 1 to 2 times a week before I joined this forum. I figured I could count this as a dairy item. Each time I have gone their the size of the cone is different.

I don't think they are pre-measured...When i worked there (granted, 12 years ago while I was in college) it was done by eye.
Damn I didnt even know Mcdonalds sells icecream
If a McDonald's ice cream is your thing, then it isn't a bad craving to have, esp. since you stick to just one.
You could ask for a sundae with no topping instead of a cone. I have found that the serving sizes are more reliable with those.
Or, you could even order a kiddie cup / kiddie cone. Those are much cheaper and smaller. If you go through the drive through they'll think your kid is in the back.

I worked there 7 years ago, still done by eye. They're supposed to be 2 swirls, if that makes any sense (It's a spiral, right, so it's supposed to have a bottom layer and then a second layer before it finishes at the point).
I love them. Soft serve ice cream is a huge weakness of mine. I don't know how many calories are in it, but I know Costco does a really really good fat free frozen yogurt.

COSTCO SOFT SERVE YOGURT - Skip the fatty samples at Costco and instead grab a 4 oz. Kirkland frozen yogurt. It's fat free, has just 90 calories per 4 oz. and is pretty much the only safe thing to snack on while shopping there.

Hey COOL! Not that I ever get 4oz, but even twice that isn't bad. And DAAAAMN, it's good.
yup, i had one of those myself last night. the swirly choco-vanilla kind. i think i ate about 8 oz, anyway that's what i logged in, and it didn't wreck my grade or my cals. and what was it? $1.35, i think.
You may decide that eating the ice cream is not a
big deal
insofar as calorie are concerned - and keeping the habit may not affect
your weight loss so long as you are keeping track of daily calories.
However, I believe that serious and permanent weight loss comes with a fundamental change in the way you approach food. In general, cravings are a dangerous upset to weight maintenance and are not part of a healthy diet.
I would consider ice cream to be my ultimate weakness. What I found is that indulging the craving made me get more cravings more often, including cravings for things other than ice cream. If, on the other hand, I went for several weeks without ice cream, I found it easier to say no to the occasional craving. The cravings became fewer and less intense. After about a year or so of consistently resisting temptations for ice cream (with, admittedly, a few slip ups now and then), I managed to basically eradicate the habitual craving.
This kind habit-changing behavior has proven very effective for me. So far, 110 pounds lost, and 5-years without going back up. There's no way I could have done it if I ate everything I used to crave.
In short, ice cream in itself is not going to destroy your diet plan -- but the inability to tackle the cravings head on may prove a serious challenge to your long-term weight management.
Good luck!

The Costco frozen yogurt cups that I get are huge - probably 16 ounces, at least!
I actually have a McDonald's nutrition guide in my hands.
