McDonalds new advertising on CC
I know this site is free, and thank you a million times for that. But when it comes to sponsors advertising shouldn't their be some sort of guidelines for them? I just saw an advertisement for the new McDonalds McSkillet Burritos. I clicked where it said for nutritional information and did I have a shock. I guess I shouldn't say shock, but I was surprised at the calorie and fat content of these two fuses to heart attacks were. The Burrito with sausage had 610 calories and 36 grams of fat. In Weight Watchers lingo, that comes out to a 15 point burrito. The steak burrito was the least of the two evils with only 570 calories and 30 grams of fat for a total of a 13 WW points. I know that this isn't Weight Watchers, but I also know that there are people out there that count their points and use WW as another tool along with CC for additional support. I am one of them
. I smiled proudly as I wrote that. It seems like it's all I can do to keep from licking the monitor when I see food like that. lol! So, have a heart please, advertising like that is killing me!
that is kinda weird... just like an anti-fur site having a fur coat factory sale ad. lol. I don't think it's unreasonable to be disappointed or confused as to why a health site is promoting mc dicks. Yuck. Im not one to get lured into mc dicks, I stopped eating fast food 5 years ago because it made me wanna puke... but some people love fast food... not a good support when they place thats suppose to give you support is making it hard to say no.
The ads that run are not chosen by CC. They are contracted for by About.com and some are what's called "bundled." They're sold as a group to be randomly displayed on websites. It's not deliberate. CC does not solicit McDs, or anyone, for advertising.
If you find an ad particularly annoying or inappropriate, use the contact link at the very bottom of the page to send a message to the administration. Use the pull down list to indicate what your message is regarding.
