5-6 Meals School Days

Quote  |  Reply

I have gotten used to eating 5-6 meals a day. School started last week and I have no idea how to have one of my meals in class. The teacher has no problem with it so long as it is nothing distracting. So, I need something small, that wont go bad in my locker or bag, and nothing extremely noisy like carrot sticks.

Any ideas?

OK, I'm sure I'm old enough at least to be your mother, but I have more or less the same ituation when I'm in court all day - I found an insulated lunch bag that fits in my purse (would easily fit in a back pack) and I now take cheese sticks or yogurt, sometimes a small package of peanuts, and a bottle of water w/crystal light - can all be easily opened under the table without catching anyone's attention.  Hope that helps!

-small container of blueberries, raspberries, banana, pre-cut orange pear & apple watermelon (to avoid mess and hassle while in class)...none of these make any sounds either so you don't distract anybody

-dried fruit --but be careful of the sugar intake!

-raisins, nuts (just a handful)

-trail mix (just a handful)

-string cheese

-yogurt

-laughing cow cheese (it's really good & there are many different flavors)

-low fat cottage cheese

I try to combine a protien with a carbohydrate at each meal. I am vegetarian and have so many protien options, but what carbohydrates could I use to combine when in class?

I'm a vegetarian too, so I totally get the protein thing. For a carbohydrate I like to eat Triscuits, which also taste great with cheese like xoxosophiexoxo mentioned. They're a cracker which could be problematic, but I don't think they're too noisy and my teacher's have never said anything about them.

Multigrain Cheerios are great as well, or just about any cereal for that matter. I also like Special K Protein Plus to make sure I get all my protein.

How about some sammies?

Cheese sammie.

PB sammie

Pickle sammie (sounds weird, but it's sooo yuuummmyy)

Creativity goes a long way when it comes to putting something between two pieces of bread. They're quiet too! Wraps also work, just make sure you find a way to keep any of the contents from coming out.

Popcorn tends to not be that noisy of a snack, as long as you chew with your mouth closed.

Also: Bananas.

Bananas rule. Seriously.

i usually eat my snacks between the passing periods. So that leaves me like seven minutes to eat. I usually have a snack bar or baby carrotts.

why not just get lunabars, clifbars, odwalla, or some other bar that has a combination...not noisy at all and portable. they are the perfect thing to have while in school.

you can also pack a silk soy milk, they don't need refrigeration and they even have chocolate ones.

you might also do yogurt covered raisins or a piece of dark chocolate

you can do pretzels, yogurt covered pretzels

they have raisins that are in individual boxes and you can bring them at the beginning of the week and leave them in your locker, the same goes for bars.

if you do trail mix you can bring the entire bag with you and leave it at school

you could always get the goldfish that are in prepackaged servings

hope this helps!! :)

good ideas chrissy. i didnt know that about the soymilk, i thats awesome. i also have the single serving boxes of craisins. They are great and its filling for 90 cals

I would try something like a protein shake, a smoothie or anything else that is a drinkable food to avoid any social awkwardness.  You could also try fruit2day http://www.fruit2day.com/ - they are very delicious.
