Don?t you feel that you no longer say ?yum, I had a bacon sandwich for breakfast!?

Instead you say ?ok 300cal for breakfast, 85cal snack ? ?

When you get to that there must seriously be something WRONG!

Im just ranting today!

lol Yup... That's a tell tale sign that you're a calorie counter... I've been there for a while...
An Orange is no longer an Orange! its a 50cal thingy!
I am a little twisted..... I enjoy it! It is like a hobby! The weight watchers ppl really crack me up!!! Its all about "How many points do you think this is?"
my son told me yesterday he is sick of the "diet talk", he is sick of me reading labels and weighing food! he is like JUST EAT you are always like "I cant eat this, to fattening or I cant eat that to many fat grams! My family is sick of me but OH WELL!!!! I tell them to stop asking me if i want a big fat piece of chocolate then and that wont have to hear my answers they dont like!

my sister in law and her friend got me started and i have to say I am addicted..my friends make fun of me..but i dont care...it makes me feel better about myself and more knowlegdeable..instead of my friends who eat whatever they can get there hands on and then grype about there weight and wonder why they cant LOSE any weight.
At first I was told I was obssessed with food/health. Just keep your opinions to yourself for a while - its hard, but you dont realise how much you acutally do talk about it!!! Really. Its quite bad. And gets annoying
I sorta got over it but I def. cal count  in my head. But I'm also learning to enjoy the foods and not treat calories as health (before i had this mentality that less cals = better. now i concentrate on saturated fat, sodium, vitamins and minerals, so nuts are no logner a no-no)
I'm more like this: "Yum!  I had pizza for dinner!  Now let's see, that's 400 cals for the pizza, 60 for the salad. . . good thing there wasn't any garlic bread or I'd've gone way over!"
My hubby and I both started at the same time, so there was no problem there.  He would go out of town though and call me to ask how many cals were in this or that!  At work though, at first they got really tired of me eating healthy, then they all joined me!  They too ask me the calories in foods or for recipes that they can do to cut fat, etc.  I'm addicted to counting!
lol @ your husband! thats so cute in a wierd way
i hate that im like that right now and addicted to counting calroies i carnt force myself to go about 800 or 900 or i spend all night just thinking bout it
I've been countin' cals for about 14wks straight to try to let myself be aware of what I'm putting into my body... and I can't help but see what other people are eating and freak out in my mind of how MUCH calories they're consuming in ONE sitting!  It drives me bonkers inside my head...

Naw, not any more. I counted calories the first few months and kept track of my activities to a "T". Now I don't keep track any more because my diet doesn't change much and I know just about how much and what I can eat on a day when I don't do any sort of workout. If I do workout I know an estimate of how many calories I've burned (from experience) and I just have a snack or two to make up any calories that I need.

The exception is if I've had a string of days where my diet is all off or if I eat out somewhere and think I've eaten something half-way healthy. I always have to jump online and figure out how much I've actually eaten.

Other than that, I find that my body works it out somehow. I might have a day or two where I'm ravenous and have to pull back on some foods but then I'll have a few more days where I eat less. It all seems to balance and I'm still losing weight at a pace I like and I have energy and stamina for my workouts.
See I always have 300 cal for brekkie, and I jsut reduce portions rather than eat diet food. So its still
"Yum! I had CHEESECAKE porridge for brekkie and  a yummo crumpet!"
ugh, YES. I've found it gets easier once you've familiarized yourself with the calorie content in certain foods. almost none of my breakfast options are over 200 calories so I don't really have to worry anymore. but before--gah! and I hate doing the math [like if 1-1/4 cups of Rice Krispies is 120 calories, that means 2/3 is].. it just takes too long.

oh.. and now my boyfriend checks the calories in his foods too, just 'cause I'm always doing it.. haha. he's like 'what?! 500 calories in this bean burrito?! oh well. [munch]"
I'm such a bean counter.  Like so many others, I'm addicted.

I know after a while, it's good if you can just know... like once you get to maintenance... maybe not be so obsessive, but that's me... obsessive.  I think different personalities just attack it different.

I've got to remember to keep it to myself, though.  The other day, someone brought a pie to work, so I looked up the calories... 684! per slice (not counting the ice cream)... I was sure to let others know, but maybe that's not a good idea.  :-/
