Do you measre them around the fullest part of the butt, or just above it? Or where your crack starts?? (sorry if that sounds gross) I'm just not sure exactly how to measure my hips!! Thanks!

At the widest point.  Usually it's around mid-backside.

I measure my hips in the dark...with my eyes closed!

I just measure at the widest point which happens to be where my thighs start.  I think it varies for everyone.

I prefer v0x's answer.

I, however, measure them just below where everyone else should measure them because I have freak-hips.  Otherwise known as 'saddlebags' - they jut out just a bit lower then they should.  Really, since the hip measurement is often the largest and therefore the one that says if stuff fits or not, you have to measure wherever YOU are the largest.  For most non-freak people, that is just above where your legs meet.

Ive found this site to be helpful in determining where to measure. For those of us who store excess weight in our hips, the "hip measurement" can be well below our rear ends, wherever the widest point lies.
thanks everyone!! i think i have been measuring wrong, so thanks for the help :)
I take several measurements and count the largest one.

fullest part of the butt which i believe is also where my hips are widest. :)

I agree with vOx also. in the dark and with my eyes closed lol..  but yeah, the widest point, on basically each body part, hips/chest/breast/thighs/calfs/waist :)

hmm I take typical hip measurements and one for my freak hips (obviously not that uncommon here LOL)  I count the regular hip as my hips and my freak measurements is just for personal reference.  But that is just me, I like living in denial!
