Where do I take measurements?

Quote  |  Reply

Well I'm tired of battling the scale. I think it's time to get some actual measurements and hopefully that will show my progress.

I know I've lost inches because everything fits me better but it's so frustrating looking at the numbers on the scale and not seeing them budge.

What areas are the best places on the body to measure? I know my hips waist thighs and arms but where on these body parts do I actually put the tape measure? Thinnest part? Middle? Thickest part?

Please help. Thanks

This is a great page on measurements  ..  click here

good Luck!!

I measure the thickest spots that I am trying to decrease.

I measure:  bust, upper arms (both), thinnest part of waist, the *&% bulge in the middle, where I wear my pants, hips/but, and thighs (both)

Thank you!

I measure waist (at the narrowest place AND at my bellybutton), hips (at the bones and at the biggest place around), bust (below boobs, at them, and above them), upper arm, thighs, and calves.

I actually measure three different places on my thigh.  My thighs are smaller in the middle and then get a little bigger closer to my knees and a lot bigger the other direction.  So I measure the biggest spot just above my knees, the smallest spot in the middle, and the biggest part up top.  (I just know that the shape of my legs and stuff changes as I lose weight, so I didn't want to just take one measure and then have it not really move even though I was losing weight elsewhere.)

only measure once a month.  Make sure the tape measure is even all the way around.  I find standing in front of a mirror helps with this.

calf of leg (at widest spot)

thigh, at widest spot

hip, same thing

waist

bust

upper arm (at bicep, or widest spot)
