Hi, all,
I just looked for recipes containing avocado, and found a guacamole recipe. Now, I'm always interested in a good formula for the green stuff, but this one had CHICKEN BROTH in it. Dear God, as I said in the title, WHY?
I can't believe that the amount of broth given in the recipe, in the proportions of the recipe, can really add much in the way of flavor, so WHY would you put meat in an otherwise (and traditionally) vegetarian dish?
Sigh,
Bettina

That's just weird... I've never heard of any kind of broth in guac. Welcome to America.
Thanks for confirming that broth in guac is odd, and for the welcome, although I've lived here all my life.

Oh, duh, I get it. As in, welcome to America, where almost anything, especially if it's over the top, up to and including broth in guacamole, can occur.
Got it.
Now hit me over the head with a board next time you want me to understand something subtle.
:-D

Yep, it's strange. I'd never do it. I betting that the person who made up that recipe has never had real guacamole - just avocados, salt and lime juice. Everything else you put in is just an embellisment.
Wow - now that's purist. I've been known to take just half an avocado and a bag of tortilla chips and go to town.
:-)
You can just cut up an avocado over rice and beans and it's brilliant all by itself! Well, maybe a little sea salt.

For a second there I thought I was gonna have to explain my very small joke:)
I love avocados and can't stand to see them turned into a soupy mess by somebody who doesn't really like them.
I lived for a little while near an avocado grove. The favorite snack there was slices of ripe avocado on a piece of toast, sprinkled with salt.

The guacamole recipe I got from my Mexican roommate was avocado, salt, pepper, lemon/lime juice, cumin, tomatoes, and onions. (Or in a pinch, mash up the avocado with the citrus juice and pre-made salsa.)
I see absolutely no reason for ANY broth, but especially not meat broth!

I make what I call "avacado salsa".
Chopped (not mashed) avacado
Chopped tomato
Crushed garlic
Minced onion
French's "Red Hot" sauce
Salt and Pepper to taste!
Yummy with Tositos baked scoops!!!
