Come meet the newbie :) anyone have some tips to share?
Hiya!
I'm Ravenway! Nice to meet you! Anyway, I'm trying to lose some weight so that I can feel healthy again. My mom just lost like fifty pounds this year(although her method was not very...healthy?) and my sister is kind of athletic and so right now I'm feeling a bit...chubby. I really could shave off a few pounds though.
I'm kind of looking for some tips on what will keep cravings away. I'm not hungry but, after dinner when I get back to my dorm I always crave a snack. For now I'm just trying to drink lots of water. I stoped drinking Soda and Juice a few weeks ago and now all I drink is water, a cup of coffee in the morning and a cup of decaf coffee in the evening.
Height: 5"1
Current Weight: 130
Short Term Goal: 120(by December 22nd)
Long term Goal: 110(by April 27th)
So, hopefully this works out :)
Ravenway,
Welcome, You have already started by cutting out soda and non-healthy drinks. Give it a little time for your body to get comfortable with that and as for the snacks I would check on your calorie count. if that does not work have your snack but try to eat something low calorie like popcorn.
Hope this helps
Nieto
Thanks Nieto! It does help :) I decided that maybe 1200 calories a day is a little low for what I'm used to so, I think I'm going to change it to 1300 a day. Which isn't a huge increasement but, based on the times I like to eat it works. I'm thinking of just adding a granola bar or something like popcorn for after dinner around seven.
My usual meal plan:
Breakfast: Coffee + Trail Mix
1 hour later: Apple Slices and Carrots
1 hour later: Rice Chex
1 hour later: Something under 100 and low sugar and fat
5:30 Dinner
Maybe i am reading this wrong but what do you eat from 12 noon until 5:30pm?
I would change and eat every two hours.
Nieto
I agree. And you need some protein in there as well. Are you a vegetarian, becuase u did not mention meat? If you stuck to that I don't you would have 1300.
No! <--in eating at noon.
Yes, I'm a vegetarian. I get a lot of protein at dinner from the food I eat. I usually get Tofu, Veggie Burgers and stuff like that. I've never had any sort of protein deficiency so I'm not too worried about it.
These are the times I usually eat between:
MWF
9:30-10:00ish Breakfast
11:30-12:30ish Snack
1:30-2:30ish Snack
5:30-6:30ish Dinner
Tues. & Thurs.
8:00-8:30ish Breakfast
11:30-1:30ish Lunch
5:30-6:30ish Dinner
I try to keep it around those times because it's in between classes so that way I don't get distracted plus I like eating throughout the day more than sitting at three meals. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I eat the same food, just kind of more at once than spread out. I'll probably find other eating options were I get my snacks to go in the morning but, I recently switched after I realized how much bad stuff was in a blueberry muffin monday...that made my daily fat in grams go way up! It was around 136 monday, probably from other stuff too.
