Foot fetishes?  Love of shoes?  Who knows?  Joy Behar of the View has a favorite photo of herself framed in her dressing room of her feet propped up on a porch railing I believe.  It was a cute picture.

MAAAAAAYBE their goal is to be able to walk in high heels without their feet hurting!..........Who knows?! I dont care if I get down to my goal weight I will not be in heels long enough to take a picture!! LOL
In my case, it would be because it is the skinniest part of me!!  But that is funny, becasue I have wondered about this before too!
The people I know who have done this did it because the got new shoes and wanted to show everyone.  Otherwise, they're hot shoes I guess... Do what makes you feel good and all that :)
As someone with one of those pictures, I can explain at least my reasons. I wore these hot pink high heel shoes when I performed a benefit performance of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues. Those shoes represent the subversion of traditional female roles (i.e. wearing hot high heel shoes in order to be sexy for men) and reclaiming the body as something sacred. And, I just feel hot and powerful in those heels!
yalediv08, your calves look toned as well!
Very cool!  I do not wear high heels because I resemble a bowling ball or Oompa Loompa on spikes.  I find walking in them horridly uncomfortable and my center of gravity is thrown for a loop so I'm always groping for something to hang on to while I walk.  I do love the look of them and have quite a collection of Vegas Hooker Shoes that I prance around in at home when I'm playing dress up.  Perhaps I'll post of pic of my shoes too.Kiss
You ought to , mykanosdelight!  If I had some hooker shoes I would too!  Sadly, no really high heels in my closet.  I have some maybe 2 inches or 2 and a half inches high but I try not to even wear them.  After years of keds and birkenstocks my feet just don't like pointy toed foot attire.   If I had any I would take a picture and post it though.  Maybe I'll paint my toenails and put on a pair of my gizeh birkenstocks and pretend it is summer.  As tribute to my friend Nancy, I could paint my toenails purple!
lol, I just like these shoes.  And don't feel the need to have my face attached to every post I write.  It's not meant to be some kind of message or statement though.
jillmenow, I like your name and your shoes too.  Your name reminds me of my son.  He uses a very simular statement :) (hopefully in jest) quite often.

I like the name too!  But I was playing around with different meanings:

Jill Me Now!! eg a statement of pride in accomplishment, for example Pimp My Ride!  Jill Me Now!!

Jill Men Ow - okay, so has Jill had heartbreak in the past?  Is this a statement of women's pride and Girl Power!

Thanks for the compliments :)

The name is meant to have many meanings.  The Jill Me Now! (like pimp my ride, lol) is my affirmative side, as in bring on the Jill!  I also have my days when I struggle, and just think..ugh...this is so hard.  But it is still in jest, really.  So there it is.  Plus it kind of just makes me laugh.  I hadn't thought of the Jill Men Ow meaning, but isn't that just so true.  Don't get me wrong, I think most men are great, but when somebody really gets under my skin, it spells trouble ;)

p.s. those shoes are my favorite because they are dressy but still actually COMFORTABLE.  They're nice and wide for my wiiiiide feet.

Okay, mykanosdelight, where's your feet?

jillmenow, my wide feet are why I love birkenstocks.  You wouldn't believe what my son called them.  The shoes, not my feet.

I accept the challenge!! I will have to post a pic of me feet in my Vegas Hooker Shoes very soonLaughing

High heels are horrible for the health of your knees, hips, back, joints, tendons, ligaments, hamstrings, and calves.

I wear flats.

Maybe I should take a picture of my feet in flats.

I believe high heels and panty hose are both ridiculous.

Actually, my feet are poorly structured (ie extremely flat) on their own, and I have knee problems because of it.  My doctor suggested I wear moderate heels because they force my foot to form an arch thus realigning my feet/knees/hips/back properly.  And I have orthotics to go in flats/running shoes.  Plus when I'm supposed to dress up for something, etc., I think I look good in heels.  So I wear them.  Different strokes.

You are a rare exception rather than the rule.

Heels are the shackles of a male-dominated society.

:->

lol, I realize I'm more of an exception than the rule, but I'm not sure how rare I am.  And I'm not going to go there :P

I've found that heels have their uses.

1. A pair of boots with a nice heel gives you a bit of a height boost which can convey authority and it also fools the eye into thinking you're slimmer. Boots can be very comfortable.

2. Dancing...unfortunately when dancing, heels just work better, they actually shift your balance forward toward the ball of the foot where it needs to be, we tend to sink back onto our heels in flat shoes.

3. Some heels send a specific message which you might not want to say out loud...in this case, you shouldn't be wearing them long enough for your feet to hurt...

Heels are the shackles of a male-dominated society.

Hmmm.... if it was a female-dominated society, what would men wear as their shackles?

P.s. I like the shoe photos.
