Water. Lots of Water.
I totally went off course this weekend too. I feel horrible today. I had a sweet tea yesterday and I swear it almost made me puke. It tasted like pure sugar. I cant believe I used to drink a gallon of that stuff everyday! I suggest you forget about it because if you dwell on the mistakes you make you will get in a rut feeling sorry for yourself. A workout always makes me feel refreshed (once I can motivate myself enough to get started) Carry on with your healthy habits and remember by tomorrow you should feel better :)
I too wandered yesterday. I did real good Sat. and alright on Sunday. Went out to Chinese Buffet..need I say more. Then yesterday had Memorial Day/ 2 Kids Birthday cookout. Went to a parade with lots of candy and then birthday cake and ice cream. I was to busy to exercise the last 2 days. Today already did some of my exercises but it is really hot and humid and I'm sweating just sitting at the computer. Oh well had a good weekend with family and looking forward to a good week.
I ate too much this weekend, too. But I'm putting it in perspective. I haven't had a "maintenence day" in about 8 weeks, so it's not a disaster. I worked some cravings out, now I'm back on track.
My plan to make up for it is to drink lots of water. Plus, I got up at 5am and hit the gym already this morning.

oh good at least I'm not the only one. I ate barbeque chicken, tons of potato salad, cake....etc etc etc..
BUT i drank more than my regular intake of water so that helped a little.

Thanks for the support....I am a huge water drinker so that part is not going to be a problem...it is the leftover potato salad and bbq chicken that the rest of my family has in the fridge!!!!
Mmmmm, hot dogs and cookies and ice cream and no guilt. Who cares if I don't lose weight one day when I'm being so healthy all the rest?
I do think that it was worth all of the agony...I have not drank since New Year's Eve..I was shocked to see that 75% of my calories on Sat were from drinks...yes 3 Mucho Mamas...totally worth the fun I had....I will now start a new day with the support of everyone here....and lose the 2lbs that i gained over the weekend!!!!
Yep, that 16oz steak Friday night along with many, many drinks shot that day down....Saturday was okay.....Sunday we went out to eat for Mexican and that day was ruined as well. Oh well, I'm back on track and I had fun so it was worth it.
Glad I'm not the only one - pigged out at "work weekend" at the church camp on cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip cookies in between raking pine needles & leaves and tending the burn piles. At least I had unusually high activity level - climbing up and down the hills, raking and shoveling and pitchforking...
I knew this weekend would be bad, food wise, and just resigned myself to it. It was so fun. I love eating with friends and so when we do get togethers in new places (San Jose this weekend) trying new food places is a highlight. I had real pizza for the first time in ages this weekend and a greasy lovely Reuben sandwich (it's corned beef, swiss, saurkraut and russian dressing on rye, for those of you who don't know) and the most wonderful dessert ever. NOt all at once, of course. I do think counting my calories has helped me in that I only overate at one meal and at least I spent most of this weekend walking or, one evening, dancing.
For anyone in or near San Jose, go to the Sonoma Chicken Coop and let yourself have dessert. Split the Chocolate Mousse Parfait with someone. It is absolutely worth the calories and I don't often feel that way about restaurant desserts.

I also flubbed on Memorial Day.
On our way driving back to Fairfax, we stopped at McD's for breakfast. I had a hash brown, two breakfast burritos and a bottle of water.
I didn't enjoy it. It was... OK, but not great.

I did ok on the food front (not my greatest weekend). What really got me was the copious amounts of beer. Oh, and discovering that the local coffehouse makes a killer orange whip (one was ok, going back for a second a day later...not so good).
Ok, I'll admit a deep fried pickle (which made me feel a hot mess later that night. me + deep fried foods = holy stomach cramps batman!)
But - I did manage a bike ride, numerous walks (that's city living for ya), and lot of frisbee tossing. Nevertheless, this past weekend was a primer on too much sodium and alcohol does NOT do a body good.
