Why do men have to look at other women?

Normally, I really don't mind but recently,  it's starting to bother me.  I think it is so rude when your (husband or boyfriend) is walking or sitting with you and their eyes is looking elsewhere.  Sometime, the girls or ladies is not all that good looking.   I get so angry because it makes me feel like I am not good enough or what!!!

I am I alone on this subject????

You're absolutely right, of course. Biology doesn't give a rat's ass about social convention, situational ethics or any sort of morality. It wants what it wants, and complaining about it is as useful as crying over the sunrise or having the ocean whipped for its tidal impertinence.

Who does the guy go home with at the end of the night? That is I guess the most basic thing - still - I feel your pain. Make sure your guy treats you well!

Ray Charles used to check women out by measuring their their wrist circumference when he shook their hand to meet them - proving that even if men are blind, they would still want to check women out. (This is only what I know from the movie - So I am not sure if he really did this)

So blindness would not help us ladies.

I'm obese and I can overlap my fingers on my wrists. It's not saying much for the blind man! :P

They are just all a holes and just cant fight the urge to want something else. They are never satisfied and always looking for the next girl that will open up. I hate that my boyfriend likes to watch Porn and that it is "in his nature" to look at other women. That is the excuse. Why do i as a women have to deal with that if i want to be with a man? I don't think that it's right and their is no justification for it. Just don't do it. Its not that difficult. I don't even look at celeberties like that.

it's wrong and just like guys evolved and learned to brush their teeth and so fourth you can learn to be civilized and not look at other women when you are not "hunting" if you want to be with other women then just stay single don't put the stress on women by making us feel unloved and unworthy. We are "biologically wired" to do allot of things that we don't do now a days. But yet here we are all grown up. Its time guys catch up and stop being so immature.

Whats up with guy friends sending other guy friends pornographic pic messages to their phones and email??

My boyfriends friends did this allot until just recently that i blew up on him. Why is this tolerable behavior to other people and not me?

Um, I suspect that while most guys will indeed look at other women, most guys don't receive porn pics on their phones and emails from their friends. Most guys (in my experience) keep their porn viewing habits private, and certainly don't flaunt it in front of their girlfriends (unless those girlfriends specifically request it of course...)

I also don't think it's just men who are biologically wired to desire variety and novelty. It is true however that most men don't seem to be any more able than women to tolerate this fact in their partners.

You know, women who nag men for looking at other women is just wrong... but just like women have evolved and learned how to use kitchen utensils, they can learn to be civilized and not pitch a hairy conniption fit when a guy looks around.

I have a couple guys who'll send me things from time to time, but it's not like it's a constant stream of sex via instant messenger. Usually it takes the form of things that are either absolutely outstanding examples of _fill_in_the_blank_ or something amusing.

... and science agrees with your thoughts that men aren't the only ones who are driven to seek variety. Women may be more subtle or less driven, but Masters + Johnson provided ample evidence that women can be as fickle as men, and I'm sure any of the (rage-fueled, often incomprehensible) "Men's Movement" sites can link you to a million studies about how many children are not the biological offspring of the person who thought he was the father.

I think the main problem with stuff like this is that there's a lot of unspoken ancient baggage that is now grinding against the new reality. In this case:

Ancient baggage: Sex belongs only in marriage, and only for procreation. The reasons for these prohibitions are manyfold, but largely revolved around children and property rights. Bastard children ALWAYS confused legal proceedings, and childbirth was (and is) a potentially fatal condition, not to mention the potential for disease... but mostly, I think, because women were to cleave to men as their lords and masters.

Having sex with someone requires you to first physically meet that person (this was from the before-times, kids... before Second Life mmo-wankathons and the like) so if you can make people feel guilty about even *looking* at other people, then it's less likely they'll stray. Hence church mandated bvlls*it like "But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." [Mat 5:28]

New reality: Sex can be had, highly reliably, without the result of pregnancy or infection. Women don't accept the idea that they should be treated like property. Both men AND women are more able to be emotionally mobile... the old rules don't apply, so the old bigotries lose what little power they once had.
