Well, I know it wouldn't be PMS per say, but. . . you get my drift.

It seems my boyfriend, once a month (same general time of the month), for anywhere between 5-7 days, gets very moody. He is snappy. I feel like I am walking on pins and needles around him, and I can't ask him anything because he becomes so defensive or answers with an annoyed tone.

The rest of the month, he is great. We get along fine and all is well.

Your thoughts?

yes. their hormones cycle as well. I can't remember what its called. but don't cheapen PMS by comparing it to them. Its NOT PMS if he doesn't want to rip out his own intestines and strangle people with them.

the only thing that keeps me from doing that is knowing I'll never have the strength for the strangling once my innards are out.

No. They're just carriers.

i've read that men's hormones cycle on a daily, monthly and on an annual basis

does it coincide with your cycle at all?

Irritable Male Syndrome

lol

It's scientifically proven that men's PMS cycle is centered around their favorite sports team and how that team is doing.  ;)

As a matter of fact. . . he's pretty close to me as far as PMS goes. His is just finishing when mine is starting. Kinda stinks because I'm all scared to talk to him about anything right now, and then my PMS kicks in (in a couple days I think) and I get all quiet and weepy. UHG....

And, LMAO at CDC's post above, as usual. :)

Personally, I can't recall ever having an identifiable "cycle" of irritability.  Mine just happens every day from the time I get up until about 11 am.

(This is not a joke.)

Mountain.  So yeah, I'm right in the middle of it.

Yikes.

This only happens to married men or men that are cohabiting with a female SO.

Yeah, it sucks, but that's what happens when a "night person" is forced to get up at 6:30 in the morning!

Maybe that's why he gets so annoyed with me when I ask him "what's wrong"? Foot in mouth

I think I'll go into stand-by mode till his mood passes. Like, maybe, speak when spoken to kinda attitude.

We only recently moved in together in January. I had been a "bachlorette" for many years before. So, this is new to me.

We all get moody from time to time...he may be pissed because of no sex during your PMS...

Men like to bottle things up...this may be his release.

They can still sex it up but I know most people (mainly men) are afraid/wouldn't dare to.

I promise. . . that is NOT the issue.

If anything it's harder for me to get sex out of him when he's like this. I find it frustrating.

I hear you.  I'm NOT looking forward to starting my student teaching in the fall.  At the school, ready to go at 7 am.  Left to my own devices, I function best from about noon to 3 am.
