I'm going out for a meal tomorrow night and have looked at the menu but cannot decide what would be the best option.
What does anyone think?

i am also always asking for menu help. wow there does not look like healthy options on this one but lots of the stuff looks great. i would never say this before but from this menu you might be safe with the hamburger or pasta dishes ha never thought i would say that! i am not familiar with meat dishes but the problems here are the sides they all seem high fat. but if i was to get anything and some one else was paying i would get a fish dish and enjoy it, just work out more!
yikes, this menu looks like a nightmare. I guess I would get the endive salad and then the halibut dish.. and just make sure to watch portions and eat less than half of it for sure. Even the veggies are all slathered in butter! Yuck, i hate UK food.. I lived there for a year.
If you like fish, I would absolutely suggest the monkfish carpaccio with a green salad (dressing on the side of course). Carpaccio is nothing but thinly sliced, very fresh fish that has a citrus juice base. The citrus slightly "cooks" the fish. Cheesecake Factory has a tuna carpaccio to die for and it only has like 200 and something cals.
Maybe get something you would "normally" get, but only eat half of it. Have a salad before going to help fill up before hand so you don't go over board. Plus, you'll have dinner for tomorrow as well! Thats what I always do when I eat out :) I like being thrifty and get two meals out of it.
I am not familar with some of these items like what those pasta dishes are but maybe they can just broil you some halibut plain and you can have one of those salads with it and a side.
What the heck are "mushy peas"???? I like my peas with a lil snap!!
I think a salad and a fish dish would be best,,then you are getting protien and veggies, just beware of house dressings,,,they are usually high in fat and sugar. GL :)
The BEST advice I've gotten here about eating out is this, even if it sounds counterintuitive: before you go out to eat, eat a good sized healthy salad or other filling, low cal mini-meal/large snack. It'll help you from overindulging so much. If you can plan the rest of your day accordingly, try to also eat filling, low cal foods earlier to save some cals for the evening. BUT! be sure not to undereat throughout the day or you'll send your body into starvation mode and you're more likely to go nuts at the restaurant.
The other option would be to make this your "cheat" meal/day. You do have one, don't you? Everyone should once a week, for the sake of sanity, firstly, and also because varying your intake keeps the body from getting too efficient (i.e., slowing its burn rate) on your normal intake.
May I also just say that that rabbit cottage pie sounds rather divine!

I can totally agree with this,,good advice :)
- Monk Fish Carpaccio
- Green Salad
- Braised Cabbage (if in olive oil - NOT butter)
- Chicory & Anchovy Salad with the dressing on the side
* You can really order anything as long as it doesn't have a heavy sauce (ask for it on the side), cheese or croutons/bread
