Did i mess up?
I am 17 years old, about 5' 2", and last time i checked around 104 and 105 pounds. The last couple of days i have ate pertty bad- or bad compared to how i usually eat, which is typically pertty healthy. So today i thought i would start my healty ways again, trying to eat less and exercise more so i could make up for the last couple of days. But i think I might have messed up. This is what I did today.... :
- 9 am : woke up and ran a little over 4 miles
- 10 am: ate banna and Fiber One oats and chocolate granola bar
- 1pm: ate lunch- turkey sandwich on 2 peices of 100% whole wheat bread , a very very small amount of maynoaise with lettuce and tomatos, and fruit and carrots on theside. Then i had one tagalong girl scout cookie for "dessert"
- 3:30: pm biked 1.5 miles from my house to tennis court
- 4:00: pm played 1 hour of tennis, not very competitve but very hot out side
- 5:00: pm bike 1.5 miles home
- 6:00: ate supper- 1/2 cup danon lite and fit yougurt with 1/2 cupe plain Speacial K cereal half of a banana and 3 small strawberries (VERY good :)) then another Fiber one granola bar
I was doing pertty good today untl i ate that second Fiber one bar, not knowing til after i ate it that it has 10 g of sugar and quite a bit of fat :( I should have had a peice of peanut butter bread instead of that sugary granola bar, but i thought the fiber would be good
Did i really mess up,was that too much sugar for one day?? .. I know i didnt eat very much but i think the sugar was bad enough?

I think you're fine! Excep for the calories are WAY too low for that much exercise!!!!! WOW
how many different forums are you going to post this exact same post on? You don't eat enough, as you have been told on every single one. EAT!
hi liosa! i totally understand! thats how i am too! i am about 5'7 and am about 110-112 lbs. i don't think you messed up, but i know that feeling. it's awful! i would recommend kashi bars because they only have 5 grams of fat and tons of protein and fiber. that way if your feeling hungry and dont want to feel guilty you can just snack on one of those! by the way mindysmith i think its very rude of you to post a comment like that. you obviously dont understand what its like so you have to room to say what she should or shouldnt do :-l
Yikes.
Spiritedsay, Mindy was only trying to look out for Liosa's health. With that much exercise, that IS far too few calories. Especially at 17 years old, Liosa needs to be making sure she's getting enough nutrients to build and support a healthy body. I think it's great that she wants to be active, but it's easy to go from enthusiastic to overzealous, especially as a teenager. Things are hard enough without adding an eating disorder to the mix! I'm not accusing anyone of having an eating disorder, I'm just acknowledging how easy it can be to take things too far. One granola bar should never be a cause for panic, *especially* with all that exercise!
I can also understand that perhaps Liosa is just looking for people to tell her what she already knows - that she's NOT eating enough. Sweetheart, heed the advice - take care of yourself, and make sure you're getting *enough* calories. Especially protein, if you are exercising that much - if you're not eating enough calories but you're exercising, your body will start to break down your own protein (muscles - including your heart!) to feed you with. I don't think that's what you want!
Building a foundation for a healthy lifestyle is SO important and I'm so proud of you for starting to do that at a young age. However, if you are restricting your calories too much one of two things will happen: a) you won't be able to maintain it forever, and will say "screw it" and give up the "healthy lifestyle" mantra for good OR b) you will continue being more and more restrictive with your eating, until it consumes your life, and you are convinced that you need to lose weight even when you are just a sack of bones. You DON'T want to go there, it will ruin your life. Eating disorders are *incredibly* destructive - don't let anyone suffering from one try and convince you that undereating is ok.
Good luck to you Liosa! And Mindy and Smelko and Spiritedsay :) I wish you lovely ladies the very best. I wish you good health, lots of healthy, antioxidant-rich veggies and lung-busting workouts!
