Where am I messing up????

5'11" 190lbs. 46" chest 32 inch waste.  (The waste used to be a 40...yuck.)Weight lifting 3 days per week and cardio at least 2 and active on the weekends.  I went from 230 to 190 very quickly. I have been stuck at 190 for the last month or so.  I zig zag my calories and range anywhere from 1550 to 1900 on any given day.  I get A's every day from the eat meter analysis.  This is a very well balanced diet.  I have already asked in this place if my muscle growth was equalling my fat loss and the answer from the peanut gallery was a resounding no.

I am getting to the point where I want to throw my scale away.  Any thoughts?

Are you changing around your weight/cardio routines? Shock your body by doing something different. If you've been running, start cycling. If you've been cycling, start swimming. If you've been using only free weights, start using cables and attacking your muscles at new angles.

Yep.  I change it up all the time.  (Every 10 days.)

I was stuck for a long time as well. What is working for me is cutting my calorie intake. I have been trying to stay between 1200 and 1500.

It's definately discouraging when the scale doesn't move.  You may find you stick at this weight for 6 weeks, but your body changes.  Then, you may finally see the scale move.  I have gone through periods where the scale is stuck, but everyone says that I'm looking thinner - my body was changing (tightening up) but the pounds were the same.  A few weeks later, I would see a 3lb weight loss out of no where.  Don't give up!

If you're looking for a new workout, try interval training (ie: on a treadmill).  Go for your regular running pace, but every 3 minutes, add a minute of intense speed with a bit of a hill.  Once the minute is up, back to your regular pace for 3 minutes.  It will kick your butt.  Just be sure that you don't lower your regular pace to compensate.

Keep working hard!  You may not see new numbers, but you are making a huge difference in so many other ways!
