How am I going to get my metabolism back?
Hi guys,
So I had to be hospitalized earlier this week because I have a really bad case of gastritis. I wasn't able to keep down food for two days and now I can't really eat much without feeling sick. Also, in order to heal properly I will need to be on a strict diet of like fruits and broths for a while. I know this shouldn't be a huge concern, but I know this is going to be a big hit to my metabolism. In these 4 miserable days I have lost about 8 lbs. so once I am able to eat REAL food again I won't even know where to start because I am sure my metabolism will be so out of whack. I talked to my aunt's friend and she said that she went from a size 24 to a size 16 during her recovery. This is so not the way I want to lose weight. Anywho, has anyone else been seriously ill during their weight loss journey? If so, how did you get your metabolism back to normal after you were better?
I imagine you should take it like someone who's had anorexia or even been starved by political/climate circumstances. Ease back into food. Don't gorge yourself when you get the green light to eat again. I say take your caloric intake while you're ill and start to add a little to that every week once you can eat again. And don't forget to try to exercise as best you can.
Gastritis isn't fun at all. I'm sorry you're ill like that. :(
Sorry to hear you have been ill. I would talk to your doctor or a registered dietican on the best way to return to eating. Good luck!
Thanks for the advice ladies....yesterday I had fruit juices, 1 cracker, a quarter of a cucumber and 1 half banana.
Today I am up to fruit juices, a whole banana, chicken broth and I will probably eat a cucumber tonight. This whole thing sucks!!!
I don't imagine that I will be gorging any time soon, truth be told I am afraid to eat. I guess that will fade, but for right now it is very hard for me to eat a lot because as soon as I start feeling any pressure I give up. Thanks for the advice, hopefully I won't be stuck when this is all over.
Why do I get bad cramps after I eat?
Suspect lactose intolerance when abdominal cramps are a problem, especially after breakfast when milk products are consumed. Lactose... Read more
