I think my metabolism's slowing down. It's been a little more than two weeks since I started calorie counting. I've been trying to range about 1200-1500. I started at 128 and am now down to 124. I try to work out 2-3 times a week, burning at least 500 each time. I'm 5'4".
Lately I've been less hungry and more tired. Is that my metabolism slowing? Should I up my calories?
Hello,
You do not mention your age here, which is an important factor for metabolism slowing down and thyroid problems. If you have been eating around 1200-1500 there is not really a damage that can be done to metabolism. This only slows down when you eat less than 1200, as it enters the -what i like to call - "saving mode".
Perhaps you might want to check your thyroid? It could be that you are just getting used to the diet, and so you are less hungry.
Regards,
toni

5'4" and 124 is pretty good. 4 pounds in 2 weeks is amazing. Less hungry is good. more tired could be any number of things... probably unrelated to your diet... might be your exercise - are you sleeping well? The tired feeling might be coming from low sugar levels... how are you cutting your calories?
