Metabolism

Quote  |  Reply

Hey everyone. I am trying to loose a few pounds but keep getting different feedback on how to go about it. I am a professional dancer.... ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, etc so I get about 4.5 hours of exercise five days a week.

When I started dancing this much in September, I changed my eating habits to a lot healthier and stopped eating as much food but still didn't loose any weight. I thought by eating less the weight would just come off. I think because I started eating like that, it messed with my metabolism and it has slowed down.

According to this website I can eat 2,000 calories a day and loose ten pounds by the begining of june. I'm scared that if I eat that much that I am going to end up gaining weight. So what do I do? How do I get my metabolism back up to burn off all of those calories?

Eating more often but smaller things, gaining a little muscle, and keeping hydrated all helps to boost your metabolism.

All these are mostly myth's.  With that much dancing activity your metabolism should be running at a peak already.  If you are over fat - a calorie reduction may be in order, but first log what you are currently eating and see if you can make cuts from there.
