about metabolism & weight training & adjusting my burn meter
I have been working out on a regular basis for about a year now. I started out and am still doing cardio & weight training.
I up both areas and the theory behind weight training and metabolism is as you continue to exercise your metabolism is supposed to be more efficient all day long, even when I am sleeping.
My question is this, and it concerns my burn meter. when I first joined C.C. back in December I listed my particulars, one of which is/was listing my activity level as sedentary. I add on my workouts on days I work out.
If I take the theory of my metabolism being faster due to my weight training wouldn't that affect my 'burn meter.? I think it would. I would not know, however how to adjust it accordingly. Again, the calories I burn each day 'should' be higher than before if this theory of weight training upping metabolism is true to the 'T'.
Has anyone else thought of this, and if so, has there been a thread here already where I can find the answers.
As it is I rarely meet my daily requirements for caloric intake. I'm no 'saint' when it comes to this, I just have bad gastrointestinal problems, which on many a day make it difficult for me to eat what I need.
So, to all you lads and lasses out there, whaddya say?

If you consistently eat below your needs you are in danger of slowing your metabolism a little ... Take advice from your doctor/dietician on how you best to get around the GI problems. Special foods, supplements etc.
On days I am not working out it would be unhealthy for me to have a 500 cal. deficit.
Would it be a good idea to have a >500 on days I do workout to even it out throughout the week. I do w/o 4 - 5x a week. Each time is at least 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
As far as the 'sedentary' I put that since I days I don't go to the gym I am usually pretty sedentary, in as far as cardio goes.
Is my sodium intake too low?
