Ok. I followed old threads, and I understand what the eat and burn meters are telling me.
Somewhere in the threads, it was mentioned that to lose 1 pound per week, you need to on average consume 500 calories less than you burn per day.
The top number on the burn meter shows you what your average burn rate is based on the infor in your settings. For example, I am sedentary, 54, female weighing 222 pounds. The meter says that my normal burn rate (the calories I will expend just living, before I add extra activities over and above the sedentary level) is 3740 calories.
So, to lose 1 pound per week, I need to consume 3240 calories per day on average; more if I add activity?
A daily diet of 3240 calories per day does not sound like a reducing diet to me. In fact, it sounds particularly high.
What am I missing? What should my target daily consumption be in order to lose 1 pound per week?
Thanks!
I think you are adding the top little black figure with the lower big white figure?
The top little black number is your projected burn for the day.
The lower larger white number represents what you have burned so far.
Thus, to lose 1 lb per week, you want to eat 500 calories less than the top black number.
Does that help?
