i have to go out to eat tommorrow at a family owned mexican restaurant so no lowfat items are offered what should i order?! Thank you!

hmm I would go with the guacamole and just a chicken taco , no refried beans, and no "horchata" lol good luck
someone in another thread suggested fajitas w/ veggies minus the sour cream and cheese. i would say do corn over flour tortillas. watch out for the guac. it's good fat, but it's still majority fat and therefore calories. also, tortilla soup is usually healthy, assuming it's broth based. i would just ask for all the garnishes on the side (avocado, tortilla strips) and skip em. OR a chicken fajita salad, hold the sour cream/guac/cheese, dressing (if any) on the side. maybe ask if they can add some of those 'fajita veggies' on it if you like.

Go for chicken fajitas, get those nice grilled veggies (peppers and onions) and see if you can order up black beans rather than refried beans, many places can do that. Skip the tortillas, go for the salsa, and up to about 25 grams of guacamole.

See if they have carne asada, it is flank steak (very lean) and grilled onions. The mexican restaurants where I live serve refried beans, rice, and shredded lettuce with tomato and sour cream with it. The portions are really small when you examine them so they won't do too much damage. However, I do not eat the sour cream and only half the rice. Hope this helps.
Ask for steak or chicken fajitas, use the salsa as seasoning...w/o the chips. Have a shot of tequila with lemon instead of a margerita!
