10 pounds by the middle of August? Who's up for it? ----GROUP CLOSED!
I started calorie count in November of 2007, since then I lost 22 pounds. But...I gained 2-3 back and I never reached my goal of 145. Right now I am 155-156. I began this journey at 175, 5'8". So who's ready to lose the last 10 with me??
We will have weekly weigh-ins on Friday mornings and post them in this thread, tell how we feel, if we are struggling, etc.
We need support!!

Yet, I still counted my calories and stayed under 900. Now each week I lose about 1-2 lbs. I am not sure why those three weeks I lost nothing...
Do you mean you ate less than 900 calories per day or that you maintained less than a 900 calorie deficit?
Eating 900 calories/day puts your body into "starvation mode" where it holds on to every speck of fat it can for fear it will totally starve. That's what makes it hard to lose weight.
Heck yeah I'll take that challenge. That would be a great starter for me.

Hi, I'm up for this.
I'm 51, 5'6" tall
current weight 175.8 - goal by Aug 15th 165.8
I started CC in June this year. I've lost 5.4 lbs so far. I have a long ways to go to get down to my goal of 139. A 10 lb challenge by mid August would really be good for me. I'm going to Laguna Beach in mid August and would like to wear a bathing suit!
I've been doing a 500-1000 deficit, zig-zagging my cals. I walk 4 miles every day, and do aerobics about 3x a week.

I'm 5'1" and 169 pounds. 10 pounds is a good start for me but my long term goal is 136.I started CC yesterday and am doing a 500 calorie deficit. I work out for atleast 30 minutes each day rotating upper body, cardio and lower body. Walking is my absolute favorite. I have a family reunion to attend mid August and want to drop weight, so I am definitely in!

i'm starting at 176, would like to see much more than 10 go but I don't want to be unrealistic either......this will definitely be a good motivator!

Hi everyone! Hope it's not too late to get in on this. I've never personally lost 10lb in a month, but I'm definitely up to the challenge. I stopped counting cals about 2 months ago due to a hectic work schedule (lots of traveling/stress) and gained back around 6 of the 10lb I had lost. Boo. But I'm back in town for the forseeable future and NEED to get my butt back in gear. Best of luck to everyone!

Me too!!! I'm in for sure.
This time I'm serious about shedding this extra weight. I am on my third time to reach my goal of 125. I currently weight 135 @ 5'1".
I just have to stay far away from the enemy called sugar, chips pizza. If all of you can do this, so can I.
I am up for it.. 10 pounds is what I need to loose to meet my 125 goal.
I did the Master Cleanse 3 weeks ago and lost 15 pounds. I am still 10 pounds away. I started eating solid food after 14 days. I am eating 50% raw foods. I also eat fish, not more chicken, pork or beef! No more sodas as well. I am trying to go to the gym 3-4 times a week.
I did the Master Cleanse to detox myself so that I can start eating healthy and stay away from white flour and sugar. Miraculously, master cleanse helped me to not crave sugar and starch anymore.
Hopefully by everyone's support we could all reach our goals.
ydemello: Yikes! I don't think I could be disciplined enough to do the Master Cleanse. Good on ya. What exactly did you do, just out of curiousity?

I'm in too! I started CC May 1, 2008 at 194 lbs and as of July 4th I was 181 (up a couple pounds from the previous week ,when I finally saw 179 peeking up at me from the scale) I am looking forward to hitting the low 170's by mid August!!

Here's my post worth editing... I'm still not so sure about my current weight... and I'll be out-of-scale-range on the 18th. What do you think, should I weigh in before (wed) or after (mon)? I'm thinking before? I've been doing pretty well recently on the whole eating thing! Yay! I've just been keeping loose count in my head, which is working for me right now. It makes me focus more on nutrients and value of food rather than a number all the time.

10 down, 10 to go! My current weight is 128. I have had trouble in the past when I manically count calories, so I have structured my diet instead with lots of veggies (romaine lettuce, cucumbers, green beans, peppers, tomatos), fruits (pineapple, watermelon, cantaloupe, raspberries, blueberries, apples), multigrain cereals, brown rice, and beans. I'm an episcatarian, so my main source of protein is fish. The above foods are "safe foods" for me; they fill me up and satisfy me so I allow myself to eat a lot of them. I run 8-10 miles about 4 times a week and have started lifting weights again and a morning pilades regimen.
I'm sooo in too! I was actually at my perfect weight a year and a half ago, but came to study abroad in Europe and gained it all back :S That why I recently joined CC and I love it!
I'm 5'6", started at 165, right now I'm 158.7, my goal is 135-140, put I do want to lose 10 pounds before I go back home in August, so I need all the support I can get!!

conut me in - love the idea of a challenge means ill not want to fail !! although with two weddings in between who knows. i am new to this site after having hit a plateau at weight watchers. i lost 21lbs but cant seem to shift the rest - thought a change might help. x

Only 2 more days till our first weigh-in ... I'm not really confident that I've gone down a pound. On another thread I've been challenged to run an extra mile this week, which I'm going to do, and maybe it will make a difference!

I have been working extra hard this week, so hard I am absolutely worn out from yesterdays workout.The last 10 or so pounds are really the hardest part of weight loss I think but we all just have to stay upbeat and motvated and we'll get there!
