I started calorie count in November of 2007, since then I lost 22 pounds. But...I gained 2-3 back and I never reached my goal of 145. Right now I am 155-156. I began this journey at 175, 5'8". So who's ready to lose the last 10 with me??

 

We will have weekly weigh-ins on Friday mornings and post them in this thread, tell how we feel, if we are struggling, etc.

We need support!!

I'm excited!

This has been a rough weight-loss week for me, after gaining 2 pounds on the 4th and not being able to shake them off since.  I'm really looking forward to this challenge.  I'm in the home stretch of my last 10 pounds, and I could really use the motivation!

Hope everyone else is looking forward to it, too!

Well, first of all, my weight was 187.2 this morning and that's almost a 2 lb drop from last week already. Yeah!

I walked and then did my water aerobics. I need to do some house work today, too. Uhhh, we'll see. Undecided

But tonight we have a treat planned. One of my former clients owns the absolute best Italian Restaurant in South Texas. My client and her husband called me and my husband and invited us over for dinner and Francesco will be cooking (he's the husband and also the chef at the restaurant). They asked if we had any diet concerns. I told them I was counting calories but could eat anything as long as it was in moderation. He is SUCH a good chef. I know he will be sensitive to my diet and still fix something fabulous. I can't wait!

I'm eating real light all day so I'll have more calories to spend at dinner tonight. Laughing I'm not too worried about over eating. I've been so good lately that a little splurge won't hurt me.

So i buy these little sausages, have my mash - count it in for my cals. Feel lovely, because I'm eating one of my fav foods! can't go wrong!

Hi guys.  In the past 2 years (since my wedding) I have gained about 15 pounds. While I do not consider myself overweight I do wish I could get back to my pre-wedding weight!  The past few months has been my biggest weight gain, about 10 pounds.  My clothes are starting to get tight (to be perfectly honest....I can't wear anything other then skirts to work right now because I can't get any of my pants on....) and I just feel uncomfortable in my own skin.

Now my brother is getting married on August 10, and I'm a bridesmaid.  I've definitely put on weight since I got measured for my dress, and I'm starting to get nervous that I won't be able to fit into it!

My biggest issue with my weight loss (other then that I LOVE sweets) is the motivation factor.  After working all day I can't get myself to go to the gym, and it's nearly impossible to get myself out of bed to do it early in the morning.  I've started walking from the train to work (about 1.5 miles each way) but that's not enough.

I'm hoping that you guys will be able to give me some ideas, tips, or at least a little motivation.

Hello, I am totally in also.  I just started today, and would love to lose 10 lbs.  This would be very exciting.  I am 5'5 female weighing in at a whopping 188 on my bad days.  To even be ten lbs closer to my goal weight of 132 would be awesome.  Thanks for the challenge!

mburns - we'll give you all the motivation you need!!! all I can suggest, if your workouts aren't happening, just keep track of your food!!!

You can keep track with the weigh ins, it can be your personal motivator! to see the number go down from last week! :D weigh ins friday!!! :D

I had a HUGE dinner last night (my mother-in-law is in town and cooked for us....) so I have a lot to make up for today.  I did go for a swim after dinner though, so at least I didn't just plop myself in front of the tv for a change.

I'm in.  I have only about 10 to lose - the hardest 10!  So this support sounds great.  Thanks!

I'm in!! I am currently 178lbs and 5'7; need to get my butt in gear. My goal weight is 140 hopefully by the end of the year.

hey guys! I just wanted to bump this up a little. I wasn't too great today, but my weight was down a tiny bit after my spin class today. I don't even want to eat dinner b/c i want my weight to stay down!!! i'm sure i'll eat something though. Can't wait to get this started!

I know it's a day before "start day", but hopefully nobody minds if I join!  I have been counting calories for about 2 months, and have lost about 10 pounds.  I hope having to be accountable to a group will help me reach my goal sooner!  I will "weigh in" tomorrow and start the countdown!

I am totally in too!! >.< I'm 21 and on my summer break.. school starts on aug 25 so wanted to lose some weight by that day... tomorrow will be my official start day.. I am currently 129 lbs and 5'7 and my goal weight is 120 lbs.. I can do it.. we can do it!! >.<

I was so excited when I stepped on the scale today!  Now I'm just hoping I don't blow it all this weekend (friend's wedding on Saturday......).

Went horseback riding last night for an hour, then came home and went for a short swim.  I walked from the train to work this morning (about a mile) and plan to walk back tonight.  Might also have to walk from the train to home, which is about 2 miles, so that would be a good start for the weekend!

Ok here are my stats!  I'm really excited because I'd been stuck at 139 for awhile and now I've finally moved past it!

Starting Weight- 146

Goal Weight- 121

7/11/08: 138

7/18/08: 136.5!!!  yay!!!

7/25/08: 135 (not quite sure how I managed this)

8/1/08: 134.5 (it's only a little bit but it's better than nothing and I'm really excited!)

8/8/08: 135 but i sucked this week so that's not so bad

8/15/08: 133.5

I think I'm only going to lose 5 pounds.  Since I've already lost some weight I am focusing on maintaining a 500 calorie deficit for now but I might need to mix things up if things start to slow.

How many calories equal a pound of loss?

I am 31, have 2 kids (2 & 4.5), live in the midwest, am about 10 pounds over where I'd like to be but am probably not considered "overweight".   5'9", large bone structure 158 now, hoping to get down to 150.  It's hard for me to get up early to work out and I can't do anything while my kids are up.  I work parttime and stay at home with my kids 2 days a week.  Anyone out there like me?  30-something mom trying to look as hot as I did in college :)
