10 pounds by the middle of August? Who's up for it? ----GROUP CLOSED!
I started calorie count in November of 2007, since then I lost 22 pounds. But...I gained 2-3 back and I never reached my goal of 145. Right now I am 155-156. I began this journey at 175, 5'8". So who's ready to lose the last 10 with me??
We will have weekly weigh-ins on Friday mornings and post them in this thread, tell how we feel, if we are struggling, etc.
We need support!!

I"m feeling okay about this weigh in. I had been teetering b/w 180 and 183 for a couple weeks, but finally landed at a solid 180. i had been hoping to see 179, but I know that will come in time. I dont' feel great, but that's cuz I haven't been eating great. I'll be in LA from sun-tues, so I know that's going ot be posing a challenge to my weight loss goals, but I'll have time to work out while my fiance is at his conference, so i just have to be sure to do that!
here's to next week being better!!!

I'm having a hard time staying motivated... any suggestions guys?
I'm also having a hard time staying motivated. The temperature suddenly dropped and all I want to do is curl up in bed with a cup of hot chocolate.
I need some way to make myself go to the gym after work. Most days I just feel so tired, I want to go home and put my pjs on instead! And going before work is not an option - my commute is almost an hour and I'd need to leave my house way too early if I were going to make the work out worth it!
I'm hoping that just having to post my weight every week will help me get moving. I'm also going to try and get my husband to start going to the gym (he needs to loose a couple pounds too!) and am hoping that having a workout buddy will make a difference.
I'm kind of in your situation too. My commute to work is about 40 minutes and I'm not exactly a morning person so going before work is out of the question!
I realized that if I just decide I'm going after work, half the time I end up getting home with the intention of changing and heading to the gym, and I end up getting distracted with other things and not going. So what helped me was to start bringing my stuff for the gym to work with me so I don't need to make the trip home in between. Forces me to go and saves on gas!!
Have to share a little success/motivator... I was working out yesterday and I had already done my time on the eliptical and weights/abs and all that, then I planned on running for 10 minutes and heading home but when I was running I felt really good so I ended up running for almost 30 miuntes instead! wooo! Keep up the good work everyone!

Today: 133.5 ~ oh well at least it's not going up! I'm pretty sure I've hit an ugly plateau. I realized that I've been at this general weight since late June. I've been reading threads about plateaus and most of them say to eat more, but that is an idea that's very hard to entertain at this point. Not sure what I'm going to do. Any suggestions?

yes! eat more! i remember the week i only lost .5 lbs and i was so disappointed. i upped my calories to 1200, spread across the day and since then i've lost almost 3 pounds! the weight loss is definitely slower but that means that you will be able to KEEP IT OFF!
