10 pounds by the middle of August? Who's up for it? ----GROUP CLOSED!
I started calorie count in November of 2007, since then I lost 22 pounds. But...I gained 2-3 back and I never reached my goal of 145. Right now I am 155-156. I began this journey at 175, 5'8". So who's ready to lose the last 10 with me??
We will have weekly weigh-ins on Friday mornings and post them in this thread, tell how we feel, if we are struggling, etc.
We need support!!

I was in LA for 2 days so I was totally thrown off, but I managed to get bakc to where I was last week which I think is an accomplishment!

Ok...I know I kinda pigged out last night, which was total self sabotage, but my weight has been consistently around 179 all week, and I was hoping to just keep it at that, but I'm up 4.8 lb this week!!! help!!! how did this happen? I haven't eaten GREAT this week, but I have exercised 4 days...what's going on? Anyone else had this big of a gain in 1 week? Hopefully it's just something wacky and I'll be back to normal in a couple of days! It doesn't look like I'm going to make my 10lb by mid august...but hopefully I'll make it to 175...that would be nice! grrr....so mad at myself.

That would mean you would have had to eat 14,000 cals this week. NOT LIKELY. Just get back on track next week, you should see a difference. <3
*sigh* I'm on the road right now... Can't weigh in... I can't wait until I can though. I'm feeling pretty confident in my body right now, despite parading around in an uber-tight swim suite and letting all of my flab hang out :-P (I'm gone for the week specifically for this swim meet, which is also why I haven't been counting this week, just focusing on healthy eating habits)

I'm impressed at some of these losses! Way to go, folks! Kazoodc, I'm SURE you didn't lose 4lbs from a haircut :) Johgar, usually when I see a big gain like that it's either a certain time of month or a scale thing - try to make sure you're weighing at the same time of day (ie first thing in the morning, after peeing, before eating, wearing the same pjs or whatever).
I had a bad week of conference food, so I didn't even weigh in this time and will keep my fingers crossed that I can erase any gains for next week.

lozzle...I know, I know...logically I knew that I couldn't have gained that much overnight...but it still freaked me out! I'm back to 180.8 even after a not so great weekend...blah...but I'm back on the wagon this week. Me thinks I should give up drinking for a bit as that seems to be my problem area!
vegetariangeek...I usually do weigh myself first thing in the morning, after I've already been to the gym and drunk half a liter of water...and gone to the bathroom :) but thanks for the advice :)

well... counting cals, reading lots of CC forums and walking as much as possible, and NOT GIVINT IN TO THE FAT PERSON INSIDE THAT SAYS EAT EAT EAT AT MIDNIGHT:)))
me too. My SD is visiting for the summer and so there is all types of kiddy foods around for me to munch on, cookies, poptarts and other junk. I keep trying my hardest to stay away though. I want good news on Friday's weigh in so I keep counting calories and exercising away!

Talk about disgusted with this weight loss. What am I doing exercising and cutting calories if I can't lose this weight.
Monday I was 166.6 and so excited, today I am up almost a pound. Arggh!!! I am doing the math, calories burned, minus 500 deficit and its above my BMR so I am not in starvation mode. I don't know, but I feel like eating out of control when this type of crap happens.

It seems like June/July have been rough months for me. I haven't gained a whole lot (lowest point was 177) but I'm stuck on this plateau!!! and every time I'm doing well during a week, I FREAKIN SABOTAGE myself!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Kay...done venting...but just to give you an example...
Last night I had a turkey burger on a wheat bun with a piece of corn (planned)
Then proceeded to drink...3 bottles of alcoholic cider, a shot of bacardi, a bacardi and diet and a michelob ultra...THEN as if that weren't enough...I got the drunchies (drunken munchies)!!! and went to Nations and ate a full BLT sandwich, fries, AND a strawberry shake!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhh no self control! I figured out that I ate about 3100 cals yesterday! That's two days worth of food!!! Working out tonight and tomorrow to try and do some damage control!
don't think I'm going to go down 10lb in 3 weeks, but I'd like to drop down below 177 and break this plateau!!!
